Chua: Dr M made Umno stronger, but BN weaker

Hibiscus: It is astonishing that it took a leader of MCA, a party that is supposed to look after the interests of the Chinese Malaysian community, so long to make an announcement of the obvious - that this black-hearted man is the cause of all the problems besetting the country today.

The old Umno had no place for crooks. So this man killed off the old one and gave birth to a new one called Umno Baru, with new DNA from Hell. He is seen by many to be a type of cancer that mutates with new lies and deception in order for him and his kind to survive.

Swipenter: Umno Baru's hegemonic ways are obvious to the people. The question is why BN component parties do nothing to stop it from happening?

Umno Baru hegemony happens because we have corrupt and self-serving leaders in MCA, MIC and Gerakan and all of them are highly compromised by Dr Mahathir Mohamad's "little black book" containing their juiciest secret activities.

It is too late for former MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek to admit that other component parties are just a facade to fool us into believing that BN is a true coalition of fair partnership.

The truth is the MCA Chinese are the ones worried, not the Chinese at large. He said it himself - Umno became so strong that it left MCA and MIC powerless. Chua must think the rakyat are as stupid as he is.

For the rest of the Chinese, the power-sharing formula is no longer relevant. It does not matter if Malays dominate the government as long as they take care of the rakyat regardless of race.

Just like in Penang, it does not matter that the state government is led by a Chinese CM as along as he takes care of the rakyat regardless of race. Chua is a leader out of touch with the Chinese.

Onyourtoes: Chua, don't try to divert issue. The Chinese are generally not worried about a very strong Malay government.

A Malay-dominated government is a political reality in this country. The Chinese are only worried about a government that is corrupt to the core, incompetent and stupid to hilt.

Of course, checks and balances, preferably with different races working in the government and holding substantive power (not tokenism as perpetrated by Umno and conceded by BN), would help a lot to stifle and suppress parochialism and racism.

Please note and please don’t misconstrue me - corruption and stupidity are not exclusively Malay. Chinese in MCA and Indians in MIC are as corrupt, immoral and stupid as any race.

The malaise confronting this country today is not because of any particular race - it is because of stupid and corrupt people in power. What a cocktail, stupidity plus corruption.

Anonymous$&@?: The Chinese in Malaysia have never worried about Malay domination. What they are more concern about is a good, transparent government that treats every citizen fairly and equal.

What MCA did is to unite the Chinese against the BN government, due to them being a lapdog for Umno over the years.

Anonymous #07688157: I honestly think that the only way MCA and MIC will gain any respect is to leave BN. MCA and MIC leaders are seen as self-serving leaders.

Umno is corrupt and using the race/religion card to control the Malays. We are sick of this and the only alternative we have is PKR. So Kajang people, give PKR a bigger majority than before.

Send Umno a clear message. If BN wakes up and changes, good for us. But they won't, so kick them out.

Fernz: It's not possible to change the government in the federation by general elections as the people have lost their sovereignty to a handful of crooks. It has been estimated that Umno-BN can still secure 112 seats (simple majority) in Parliament with as little as 18.9 percent of the votes cast.

The only way that the people can regain their sovereignty is through at least a third of the Umno MPs, or 30 members, defecting to PKR and thereby paving the way for the opposition to take power.

DontPlayGod: As Umno's population re-engineering advances (they have been advancing the the last 40 years), BN will no longer be a party of components but it will be a one-party entity, i.e. there will not be the need for BN. It will just be Umno alone.

They will no longer need the other component parties. This is already a fact now. After all, how many seats did the component parties contribute? Umno's racist policies have won over the special race.

MCA has been powerless for the last 40 years. The Chinese have been acutely aware of it. The 64 million ringgit question is: Why are you still in BN?

JMC: Not only the component parties have been made powerless but they have lost respect of the people.

This is because of Dr M with the help of the spineless leaders of MCA, MIC, Gerakan and those parties from Sabah and Sarawak that were interested in just enriching themselves and their families at the expense of their people.

Almost all the problems we have today are directly or indirectly due to Mahathir's one-man show, totally disregarding laws of the country and suppressing every institution with his racist policies.

Kingfisher: Dr Mahathir is no magician. He effected a deliberate policy to undermine the partnership fabric of BN and infuse an authoritarian culture under Umno's pre-eminence.

It would have been different if Umno's dominance had been enlightened and progressive for all Malaysians and especially the Malays.

But looking at present-day indicators in almost every aspect of human interest, BN should be remorseful that it has mortgaged the future of our younger generation for the gains of the vested interests of a few.

MCA and MIC should hang their heads in shame for their lack of courage, initiative and failure to have strived for a truly prosperous and harmonious 1Malaysia within the framework of the original Federal Constitution.

A lost generation. Next one, all will be disadvantaged.
