The case involving deviant sect leader Harun Mat Saat, 47, who is charged with possession of documents that contravene Islamic rulings, which was fixed for mention today, has been postponed to Feb 24.

Judge Abdul Wahid Md Ali Al-Fakwie postponed the case following a request by lawyer Abdullah Sidek, from Messrs. Radzi and Abdullah, who was appointed by Harun to represent him, to study the case.

Prior to this, Harun and a few of his followers had pleaded guilty in the same court to the charge.

They were alleged to have committed the offence at a shop lot at B160-1st Floor, Lorong Pandan Damai 2/201, Kuantan at 6.50pm on April 4, 2013.

The charge, under Section 165 of the Pahang Islamic Religious Administration and Malay Customs Enactment 1982, provides for a fine not exceeding RM500.

Harun, who was accompanied by a few followers, was in court today, He was in a wheelchair, following a stroke a few months ago.
