Cows, pigs and now chickens, what’s next?
YOURSAY ‘The more such behaviour is exhibited, the more people are alienated.’
Chicken slaughtered, blood smeared on banner
Versey: I am pretty sure anyone who is a pious follower of the faith will revere the Almighty God and will not want to behave in anyway that is detrimental to the name of the religion he professed to be so respected.
Were these Muslim NGOs born in the barn and new to their faith? Do they realise that such insolent and repugnant behaviour denigrate none other than themselves?
Tholu: What are these savage and barbaric people trying to prove (or provoke and incite)? If this is not a clear act of sedition, I would not know how to recognise any other words and actions of sedition.
Is Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi going to take stern action against them or is he going to defend them stating that they cannot be blamed for their action and instead call these protesters to his ministry and advise them not to do it in the future over a cup of tea and some 'kuih-muih' (just as former home minister Hishammuddin Hussein did with the cow head protesters).
Hang Tuah PJ: If Jais/Mais/Jakim, etc, don’t come out to condemn this act and take action against these protesters, then they can be said to be condoning and even colluding in this act.
This is not Islam so brothers and sisters, please refrain from condemning the religion. I am a Muslim.
Ferdtan: I don’t need to be a Muslim to know that this ‘ritual’ of slaughtering and smearing of chicken blood over banner is un-Islamic. This is the first time I have heard of such unholy ritual (of protest) carried out by Muslims - though I don’t know where to place the kind of Islam these supporters of Umno practised.
This is obviously not the culture nor the religious practice (or tradition) of any true Muslims.
Out of concern for our Muslim brothers and the understanding (curious as we are) of the non-Muslims, we call upon all Islamic authorities and the many learned Islamic scholars (including Umno-loving Perak mufti Harussani Zakaria) to clarify whether such act can be deemed to be as un-Islamic and sacrilegious.
On top of that, the threat of May 13, 1969 violence is seditious. If the police do not take any action (or drag their feet) over this, it is confirmed that we are seeing hidden hands of Umno behind this protest.
Appum: Why are they so blind with hatred that they can't see that they themselves have insulted Islam? The video by Teresa Kok is neither offensive nor inspiring. It's just a satire and playing on the word 'mah' for horse in Chinese. Criticising it is anybody's right.
But is there a need to manipulate race, religion and royalty to earn some brownie points? The government should not allow hooliganism to rule the day.
Gc_3390: If slaughtering chicken and spilling blood on the banner of those politicians pictures can cast a curse on them, I would say they are totally stupid and wrong.
Taoists believe this is a way of worshiping. When did this group of Muslims turn into Taoists?
Jiminy Qrikert: It's the brainless ‘bodoh’ brigade embarking on its headless caper again. Taking its lead from the headless Umno-BN, which has evolved existing without a head into a fine art, this brainless ‘bodoh’ brigade chops off chicken’s heads this time.
Each animal head is treated with a different dance of death. Blood-spilling and stomping on faces is the chicken boogie-woogie. They like to hoof it with cow’s heads. And pig’s heads are treated to a plastic-protected prance in the masjid.
It is their brainless nature that drives them to want to evolve this art back to the days when heads were trophies and headless was a tribal ritual meant to ensure only the bravest had the best heads on their shoulders.
This event way back in history was termed May 13. Today, the brainless ‘bodoh’ brigade show they have the best heads on their shoulders by chopping off heads of animals even as they yearn for May 13.
Wg321: I thought you need to give 10 days notice to the police under Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 if you want to hold a rally. As usual, nothing will happen to these people who publicly incite and provoke racial hatred.
PKR MP Rafizi Ramli has predicted correctly that this is part of the Umno's strategic plan to create instability, religious and racial hatred so that in a few years’ times, there is a possibility that Umno-BN may impose emergency rule, especially in Selangor.
That is why these people keep on harping on May 13 and no action will be taken against them. We should not fall into their trap.
Anonymous_3e46: This has nothing to do with race but thuggism at its lowest and despicable level... what a shame. The more such behaviour is exhibited, the more people are alienated.
Pemerhati: Malaysia is ruled by an extremely corrupt and crooked Umno dictatorship (also called a false democracy by commentators) and it continues to stay in power through rigged and ‘gerrymandered’ elections and despite getting much fewer popular votes than the opposition (Pakatan Rakyat got 51%, while Umno’s BN got only 47% of the votes).
This Umno dictatorship, like most other crooked dictatorships, will use all crooked and nasty methods to stay in power.
The present bunch of goons, just like the previous set of goons that were used for the cow head and other nasty incidents have obviously been organised and financed by Umno’s top leadership.
The frequency and the increasing nastiness of the demonstrations indicate that Umno is very worried with the truth and facts highlighted by the opposition in a very effective and humorous manner.
Umno has no answer to the truth and facts exposed and so resorts to making blatantly false racist and other accusations against the opposition.
Yahoo: The very action does not hurt the DAP leaders one bit. I am laughing at their stupidity. It shows these NGOs are frustrated and can't do anything (it's because they lack ideas).
Progressive: Isn't it time for a dialogue on national reconciliation as proposed by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim? Things are quickly slipping out of hand.
Every criticism of the government is being turned into a racial thing. This is the most vile, seditious, racial and barbaric call to violence against a community. And action needs to be taken against this small group that does not reflect the vast majority of Malays.
But PM Najib Razak cannot now be weak and silent on the call for a national reconciliation. PM, please act fast before things spin out of control in our beloved country.
Fairplayer: Quote: "He also urged that the government expel Chinese and Indian citizens who were not fluent in Malay from the country."
I dare the government to expel Sarawak and Sabah. We don't speak your kind of fluent Malay in the peninsula. We speak our own kind of Malay here.
