Feb 26 set for trial over murder of Ambank officer

High Court registrar Hanie Dzatul Akhmar Zulkefli decided on the matter when the case was mentioned before her in Shah Alam today.
The accused, Indonesian La Ode Ardi Rasila, 37, is accused of killing Norazita Abu Talib, 37, at the Ambank building, Jalan USJ Sentral 2, Subang Jaya near here between 6 and 6.30pm on Oct 23 last year.
La Ode faces the mandatory death penalty under Section 302 of the Penal Code, if convicted.
He was represented by lawyer S Selvi and is also charged with firing a shot from a pump gun with the intention of causing Norazita’s death at the same time and place.
The charge was brought under Section 3 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971, which also carries the death sentence, upon conviction.
