Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali has slammed PAS information chief Mahfuz Omar for linking the group to Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's statement on threats against DAP Seputeh MP Teresa Kok.

In a strongly-worded statement, Ibrahim said that Mahfuz is speaking like “someone who did not go to school... is narrow-minded, and just shoots his mouth”.

“He accuses Perkasa over Ahmad Zahid's statement on the Kok issue, but what have we go to do with any of that?” he said.

Scathingly, he added that it is thus no wonder that PAS delegations rejected Mahfuz ( left ) in his bid to retain his post as PAS vice-president.

He said that as a Muslim, Mahfuz should have spoken with “more wisdom, and less emotions”.

At an earlier press conference, Mahfuz had told Ahmad Zahid to “start talking like a home minister and not as a patron of Perkasa or other extreme and racist NGOs like that”.

He was responding to Ahmad Zahid's statement that there is no need to investigate several Muslim NGOs for offering a bounty of RM500 to anyone who will slap Kok, as this is not a threat.

In announcing the reward, the NGOs also slaughtered chickens and smeared the chicken blood on pictures of Kok, DAP leaders Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng, as well as PKR assemblyperson Lee Khai Loon.

Perkasa, however, had not been part of the group of NGOs.
