The Tesco hypermarket at Paradigm Mall, Kelana Jaya, Selangor is among outlets that sell medium-sized black and green ikan kembung (Indian mackerel) for as low as RM1.99 a kilogramme.

According to the portal http://1pengguna.com.my which lists the price of goods according to premises and states, the fish was being sold at RM2.99 per kilo at the Tunas Manja supermarket in Temerloh, Pahang.

However, in other places, it was sold at higher prices, starting from RM5 per kilo in Sabah, Sarawak (RM6), Johor (RM6.90), Kelantan (RM7.90), Malacca (RM8.90) and Kuala Lumpur (RM9.90).

For standard dressed chicken, two supermarkets in Terengganu - the Subasun Bandar and Subasun Wakaf Tembesu, Kuala Terengganu offered it at RM5.97 per kilo, while the hypermarkets like Tesco in Puchong, Selangor sold it at RM5.98.

In the federal capital, the chicken was priced at RM6.79 to RM7.39 per kilo at some outlets, while at the wet markets, it was sold at RM7.50 to RM8.50.

The portal also listed the price of 10 grade A eggs at RM3.40 to RM4.49 in several supermarkets and wet markets in Selangor while in Kuala Lumpur, the price was between RM3.50 and RM3.60.

Meanwhile, long beans were cheaper at RM2 to RM2.20 per kilo in Sarawak, while in Selangor they were sold at RM2.39 to RM7.50, Kedah (RM2.89-RM7), Sabah (RM2.90-RM6) and Kuala Lumpur (RM4-RM8.90).

The price of bean sprouts (small) was RM0.50 to RM3.50 per kilo in Johor, RM1.30-RM2.50 in Perak, RM1.50-RM4 in Kelantan, RM1.50-RM6 in Selangor and RM1.50-RM2 in Kuala Lumpur.
