Anonymous #07688157: There is nothing wrong with the McDonald’s advertisement. It is true, the price of vegetables have not dropped. In fact, it has gone up.

This is just an advertisement. Why apologise? Should your licence be taken away, the rakyat will be very upset.

Lim Chong Leong: Even our beloved Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak says he likes to eat kangkung , so what is so offensive about the advertisement?

McDonald’s should just run the ad. There should be no problem unless our PM is secretly hurt by being lampooned.

Or is it that McDonald’s is seen to be attacking the PM, so certain parties are assumed to be offended? We should ask the PM what he thinks of the advertisement and not act according to what we think he thinks.

SultanMydin: Why be apologetic? There is nothing wrong with the advertisement. Is the guy who uttered about price of kangkung a demi-god to be worshipped and one should not even remotely hint at his statement?

Odin: I agree with SultanMydin. There is absolutely nothing but nothing wrong with the advertisement. There is no mention of kangkung in the copy. And it is a fact that prices of vegetables - all varieties - have not gone down.

Anonymous #06188481: Aiyoh, ‘sayur’ is vegetables. Not all ‘sayur’ is kangkung. Where is this direct reference to kangkung?

Clearly, this is a case of ‘siapa makan cili, dia rasa pedas’ (he who eats chili, will feel the heat). By the way, is chili even a 'sayur'?

Concerned Public: What is the problem with Malaysians nowadays? Have we lost our sense of humour?

Fair&Just McD: The ‘kangkung’ statement was moronic and this reflects the quality of our leader, who is now trying to cover it up like some African countries do.

In some truly democratic country, this person would not be deemed fit to run a company, what's more a country.

Idiot: I was with the marketing department before. Everything is approved by the respective department heads. But in any case, this is a good advertisement of our great leader’s stupid rationale on price increase.

'Inaction over blood protest irresponsible'

Unafraid: It is obvious that Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and by implication the police force and the law enforcement authorities in Malaysia under BN, are racially and religiously biased.

They practise selective prosecution. Such a posture by the government lends strength and boldness to the ultra racists to provoke more violence. If this is not nipped in the bud, actual violence can take place.

The other consequence of racial bias in maintaining law and order is that it causes the ordinary peace-loving rakyat to be less confident in the fairness of the leadership of the nation.

To compound the seriousness of the present situation, PM Najib Abdul Razak appears to have abrogated all authority and responsibility of governing the country to the home minister. What will happen next is anybody's guess.

Swipenter: Malaysia Truly Asia. Is poking fun (satire) the same as threatening violence and bloodshed?

The Umno Baru-BN cannot be criticised, cannot be made fun of, cannot show any dissent, cannot have a mind of their own, etc. Only they can do what they want and how they want to do it.

They can threaten others with violence and bloodshed with impunity, time and again. They can slaughter a cow and drag its head in public to provoke Hindus. They can slaughter chickens and smeared their blood on posters of DAP/PKR leaders and threaten another May 13.

They can do butt dance and sell beef burgers in front of a Hindu activist house. They can do what they want but others cannot do a satire on corruption, mismanagement, obscene lifestyles, racism, religious bigotry and things that are obviously contributing to the decay and lawlessness of Bolehland.

Senior: The home minister never thinks before he shoots his mouth. My fear is that he is regarded as a potential PM. God, please save this country from people like that.

Ksn: Bar Council chairperson Christopher Leong, you are right, of course. The inaction against activities like smearing of chicken blood, and offering of reward money to slap an MP shows how openly the police discriminate in the implementation of the country's laws.

It also reflects the level of standard and respect those in and with power have for democracy and democratic ways - two sets of laws, one for them and another for the public, depending on whom the alleged criminals and the victims are.

Majoring On The Minor: What's the word that we use when we are sick of something? ‘Muak’? Yup, I'm ‘muak’ with all these nonsense: it seems some laws don't apply to "them."
