The slip road from Kuala Lumpur to Jalan Maarof - the uphill stretch towards the Bangsar Shopping Centre - will be temporarily closed on Feb 18 and Feb 19 from 10pm to 5am, for dismantling work of the steel truss at the Maarof Interchange.

Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) in a statement today, said the closure is a key part of safety practice at all MRT construction sites.

It said during the temporary closure, motorists heading to Jalan Maarof will be diverted to Pusat Bandar Damansara, and make a U-turn further ahead before joining the lower loop towards Jalan Maarof.

There would also be a continuation of temporary night traffic diversion at Persiaran Surian (Sungai Buloh-bound) between Pangsapuri Cempaka and Pangsapuri Seroja from Feb 18 to 24, from 10pm to 6am, each night, it added.

It said motorists travelling from Sunway Giza towards Sungai Buloh will be diverted into Jalan Teknologi near the Tropicana Medical Centre, but motorists heading to the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) Highway will remain unaffected during this period.

"The closure of the affected stretch is to accommodate large construction vehicles and machineries for the construction of MRT viaducts.

"Night works are done in the best interest of public safety and to reduce traffic impact at Persiaran Surian," it noted.

The statement also said that there would be a partial lane closure at Jalan Cheras, located between the traffic light junction in front of Menara PGRM and Maluri LRT Station, from Feb 18 to April 16, 24 hours daily.

"The 50-metre lane closure involves the left-most lane of the road, to facilitate underpinning works for the construction of the Maluri LRT station," the statement added.
