Najib to blame for Waytha’s failures

Waytha's resignation 'disheartening' to the PM

WDA: As usual, PM Najib Razak is taking no responsibility but paints P Waythamoorthy as the bad guy instead.

The PM is putting all blame on the PHM (Persatuan Hindraf Malaysia) leader by saying that Waytha has no interest in championing the Indian community's agenda, have not attempted to fit in with his colleagues in the cabinet and does not want to help implement projects that would help the Indians.

Before signing the MOU (memorandum of understanding) with PHM in 2013, Najib apologised for the "lapses in delivery" to the Indian community by BN over the years.

That was an election year and he is in no mood to apologise now or take responsibility for not having the political will or the courage to honour the MOU.

Hopefully, the Indian Malaysians have got wiser through this episode and will not be hoodwinked again by the sweet promises of the BN government.

Abasir: Najib, since it was you who enticed Waytha to join your ranks, it was your responsibility to ensure that he succeeds by granting him the space and the means to fulfil his plans, which you craftily endorsed.

But you did what everyone who knows you well said you'd do: cast him aside and break your promises as is your patented style. For you now to express your 'disappointment' is the height of cant and hypocrisy.

It highlights once again, your lack of character, your ingrained dishonesty and your practiced guile. You were never PM material because you were never a leader of anything.

Waythamoorthy's departure serves to shine a bright light on you to reveal what you are: a selfserving man without principles, without decency and without what every normal person has a spine.

You are, as the Pope put it centuries ago, "skimmed milk masquerading as cream". Or as locals are wont to say, a fake " pasar malam roleks ".

Arman: The Chinese became ardent opposition supporters due to then PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s cheating of the community in 1999. Now Najib did the same to the Indian community. Let we see how it all ends.

Apa Nama: Najib, what drama are you acting now? Are you saying that Wathya suddenly resigned without any hint for the past seven month?

Why does he need to approach you before tender his resignation? He is under your department, yet you do not know what is going on?

Onyourtoes: Najib, are you saying here you signed the MOU but you did not see the need to monitor its implementation? Did you give the money and the authority to Waytha to do what was agreed earlier in the MOU?

Look, if I were as stupid as Waytha to sign the MOU with you, I would also quit without seeing you first. Why kowtow to you as big ‘tuan’ even when you have done nothing for the MOU?

Shanandoah: Najib, don't insult the Indians any more. Waytha led the Indians to believe in you after signing the MOU with him. You didn't honour your word. You bribed and corrupted him with senatorship and a deputy minister’s post to shut him up.

Now you say you are "disheartened" over what has happened. The Indians don't believe you are disheartened. You have achieved your purpose. You are happy that Waytha is gone.

If not, call him back and implement the MOU you signed with him. After all, you signed an agreement, didn't you?

Pemerhati: Najib’s statement gives the impression that he would have implemented the MOU and helped the Indian community if Waytha had gone to see him.

Waytha now has to come out and tell exactly in great detail what efforts he made to implement the MOU and the reason for his resignation.

If he does not do so then he will be allowing Najib to get away with the allegation that Waytha did not try to fit in with his colleagues to carry out the projects that would have helped the Indian community and the reason why the MOU was not implemented was because Waytha did not bother to go and see him but for some reason just resigned.

Samurai: I think this is part of the sandiwara . Waytha knew exactly what he was getting into when he signed a pact with the devil he always knew. He knew his term would be limited. His usefulness ended after GE13.

Now that Umno has a new agenda, he is redundant and he has quit before he really runs out of excuses for his sterile MOU, and can get some mileage out of being a so-called a 'man of principle'.

Yeah, right. Tell that to your brother rotting in jail, Waytha and gang. You couldn't even help him; don't bother helping the entire Indian community.

Headhunter: Waytha is a major disappointment the way he left his job. Before he decided to leave he should have been a thorn on Najib's backside by highlighting all the major issues relating to the Indians and push Najib to the wall.

At least, he would have achieved something credible and would have won himself some respect. Instead he left with his tail between his legs.

Anticommunalist: Right or wrong, Waytha has proven that he is a man of his word and Najib has proven that he is nothing but a deceitful leader.

FellowMalaysian: It’s still not too late for Waytha to redeem himself and pick up the pieces again by paying his brother a visit in the jail and kneel down to him and seek profusely for his forgiveness.

They will be formidable brothers once again and Hindraf will soon regain its past glory. And Pakatan Rakyat leader Anwar Ibrahim will be pleased to see them as Indians voters are 10 percent in Kajang.

Cry, My Beloved Country: Two documents in dead water the 10point agreement, personally signed, and now the MOU with Hindraf. So much for Najib’s ‘nambikei’.

Not just disheartening, I'm afraid, but devastating.
