YOURSAY 'Is Michelle Obama a leader in US? Then how did Rosmah become a national leader?
NGO: It's obvious Kok was insulting Rosmah
WDA:
So this Martabat Jalinan Muhibbah Malaysia (MJMM) puts two and two together to link the character in the satire to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s wife Rosmah Mansor, because of the handbags and rings depicted in the video. In other words, they too, like most Malaysians, immediately linked these luxury items to Rosmah.
Is Seputeh MP Teresa Kok the first person (although she has not admitted or denied it) to ridicule Rosmah for the 'first lady's' exuberant spending habits? These criticisms have been going on for a while, but why are these NGOs focusing their anger on the Seputeh MP?
Is it because Teresa is a non-Malay and non-Muslim? Where were these NGOs when the crowd booed Rosmah in front of a worldwide audience at the recent Malaysian Badminton Open finals?
And finally, how do these NGOs link ridiculing or more accurately, criticising Rosmah to insulting the Malays, Islam and the Agong? Unless they are saying that she is the ultimate role model for the Malays and Muslims. I will let my Malay-Muslim brothers and sisters be the judges of that.
Yap Wing Chun: Is Michelle Obama a leader in US? Then how did Rosmah Mansor become a national leader?
Keropok Lekor : I didn't know Rosmah is a leader? Is she the super chairperson of Umno? Is she a uztazah? Or a minor saint? No? Then she's just an ordinary woman who has lots of expensive handbags and diamond rings? I don't hear other plump lady bosses making noise? How come these 'Islamic' groups are so sure it's Rosmah and so upset?
Onyourtoes: Abdul Rani Kulup said the woman (Mrs Jit) in the video is Rosmah. He made that conclusion by referring to the “look”, the handbag and the ring. Now, this is interesting; which is which now?
Was he saying the handbags and the rings are the hallmarks of Rosmah? Was he saying the video was a depiction of actual facts? Was he saying the conversation which touched on good property investment in Central Park, New York, had truth in it?
Hello, Rani, the “R” mentioned by you is not the three Rs (race, religion and royalty) you claimed Teresa had insulted. In a democracy, leaders must subject themselves to criticism. It is up to them to defend or sue if the criticisms are slanderous or seditious.
Telestai!: Abdul Rani Kulup, which part of Mrs Jit reminds you of Rosmah? Is it the handbags, the sparkling diamond rings or the expensive condo in the US? Are you admitting that all those insinuations against Rosmah are true?
Quigonbond: So what if Teresa is insulting Rosmah? Handbags, big rings - those are issues already in national consciousness. Rosmah is not even an elected representative.
If she feels she's being defamed, by all means sue Teresa for defamation - Teresa will simply prove on a balance of probabilities, that those allegations about shopping sprees are true.
Even if Teresa is criticising the national leadership which Rosmah is clearly not part of, so what? This is a democracy. They are not beyond rebuke.
Kit P: Sounds like "the person who ate the chilli feels the sting". Mrs Jit could be a parody of any overindulgent propertied woman from the Klang valley, with much more money than good sense.
Ace: There are also many Chinese ladies - especially wives of Umno's Chinese cronies who have many luxury handbags and super expensive rings. The PM's wife does not monopolise such items. But if you think it's her, it's her... But is she a sultan, or is she the only Malay muslim?
Louis: Beware all fat ladies in Malaysia; do not spot a big crop of hair. Don't wear diamond rings and carry Birkin handbags even bought from the pasar malam. Rani will say that you are insulting the leader.
Saleem Khan Abdul Rani, Rosmah is not a Malaysian leader. And when you hold public office you are likely to be criticised and must accept it if you are guilty. Even US president Barrack Obama and the English queen are not spared from criticism.
Kyrie Eleison: Abdul Rani, why so you have to speak on behalf of Rosmah? If she is the one being insulted, let her take legal action against Teresa. Why must you speak on her behalf? Have you been authorised by her or are you just a bodek kaki (flatterer)?
YUNoAnon: When asked where in the video is it insulting, as what he claims, he can't answer. This clearly shows he does not know what he’s talking about. He’s just picking a fight.
Cocomomo: Abdul Rani, it is lowlife you like that feel insulted. Kindly watch the video and highlight where it insults Islam or Malays. If people like you decide that the oversized lady look like some you admire, it is your problem.
If the person who you think she looks like, does not like it and feels insulted, she is the one who should sue. Please think and stop making Malaysians look foolish.
RKR: Another stupid pro-BN fool. He is confirming Rosmah's penchant for expensive things by saying that that anyone with a stylish handbag and expensive ring undoubtedly refers to Rosmah. Abdul Rani, don't leave your brains at home when you speak.
Well Thats Fantastic: Another instance of 'sounds like me, looks like me, but it is not me'. But with a comedic twist of sorts?
Apacerita: You are admitting that the real Rosmah is an extravagant spendthrift! And where did she get all the money to buy so many branded and expensive rings and bags? Mocking "our" leader? She may be your leader but not a leader to all Malaysian.
And what is she leading? Leading a very bad example of spending the government's money like it is her own.
Spartacus: Is Abdul Rani Kulup implying that Rosmah has lots of diamonds and handbags? Doesn't that mean the MJMM chairperson is insulting Rosmah, the wife of a Malay leader?
My4hope: So we have to worship Rosmah? My god, these goons have never known what democracy is, even since their birth here.
Public, political figures are not beyond criticism
