The police believe that the attack on Seputeh MP Teresa Kok's office was related to her Chinese New Year video message.
 
Acting Kuala Lumpur CID chief Khairi Ahrasa said that the incident is being investigated under Section 352, 427, and 506 of the Penal Code for using criminal force, commiting mischief and criminal intimidation, respectively.
 
According to Bernama , Khairi said that the police are trying to identify those responsible for this act.
 
Earlier this morning, the entrance to Kok's service centre in Kuchai Lama was spilled with red paint. A dead chicken and a note urging her to "behave" were also found.
 
This is the second time that her office has been targetted since Feb 5, when a funeral wreath was placed at the entrance.
 
These two acts, along with the rally by Muslim NGOs on Feb 6, are believed to be reactions to her Chinese New Year video message on YouTube . 
 
The video clip is a satire piece which had been targeted at the ruling party. However, detractors are claiming that she had mocked Malays and Islam, albeit without providing any evidence of this.
 
'Work of cowards'
 
In a related development, DAP Youth chief Teo Kok Seong said that the attack on Kok's service centre was the work of cowards.
 
In a press release today, Teo said Kok's detractors were now resorting to using thuggish and uncivilised tactics while hiding themselves.
 
"First, they spill chicken blood on a poster depicting Kok and other Pakatan Rakyat leaders. Then there was a RM1,200 bounty for slapping Kok.
 
"Now, there are irresponsible people doing something crazy (such as attacking her office) in the same veins of an 'Ah Long' (debt collector)," he said.
 
Meanwhile, Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM) has called for volunteers to provide Malay subtitles for Kok's video to show that her work of political satire is not aimed at Malays or Muslims.
 
"What is wrong with the administration's weaknesses being shown through satire?" asked SAMM propaganda chief Edy Noor Reduan.
 
Edy Noor said that currently, Umno supporters' only retort is by turning any form of criticisms into racial issues, whereas Pakatan is trying to foster true national unity.
 
Teo had also urged the authorities to take stern action against what he considers a "series of provocations" aimed at stirring hatred.
 
He said perpetrators of similar acts in the past had gone scot-free and this had subsequently emboldened others.
