I love the challenge my job brings, says Husni
He also had some advice for "political friends" who were thinking of quiting.
Last week, Najib's cabinet was rocked by the sudden resignation of deputy minister P Waythamoorthy, who complained that he got no money to help the poor Indians.
'I always enjoy my work'
Husni said despite the added requirement for a government minister to be welfare-conscious, he always enjoyed whatever work he did.
“I don't know about anybody else, but I enjoy the work.
“I was an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand, I enjoyed the work. And then I worked with Chase Manhattan Bank, I enjoyed the work... investment bank, Bumiputra Merchant, I enjoyed the work... I am a person who always enjoy my work," he said, bearing a wide smile.
It was reported that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak may reshuffle his cabinet in May or June. This could take place if BN coalition partner MCA votes to rejoin the cabinet at its extraordinary general meeting, which will be held on Sunday.
Besides Ahmad Husni, Najib's key economics team consists of International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Abdul Wahid Omar and Deputy Finance Minister Ahmad Maslan.
