Mei Fun: Vote for a stronger S'gor opposition

Awakened: With the Kajang by-election, Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim has successfully checkmated Umno. Kajang state seat has always been represented by a Chinese, be it from MCA or PKR.

 

With Lee Chin Cheh's resignation and his giving way to Anwar who is a Malay, it shows that a Chinese is prepared to step aside for a Malay.

 

If Anwar wins this by-election against MCA’s Chew Mei Fun, it shows the Chinese are willing to elect a Malay, rather than a Chinese, to represent them.

 

This will show all the Malaysians that it is the capability of the candidate that counts rather than your race. The day that only Chinese can represent the interest of Chinese, Indian only represent the Indians and Malays for the Malays should slowly come to an end.

 

Umno will not ask " Apa lagi Cina mahu " in this election. Instead, they will say "Saya boleh kasi apa yang you minta".

 

Jiminy Qrikert: Yes, Chew Mei Fun will be slaughtered by her own Chinese community. That's because the Kajang Chinese are not stupid.

 

They know MCA leaders are traitors to the community who willingly sell out the interests of their own race for their own personal selfish gains.

 

Avenger: Chew, a healthier two-party system? Umno and its poodles such as MCA could have created a healthy system if they had worked against corruption, cronyism, electoral fraud, misuse of public facilities, and discrimination.

 

I will never forget the BN leader who said to me, "Now that I have been elected, I must recover my investment." These BN crooks must be put in prison and the keys thrown away.

 

Kangaroocourt: When BN was in its ascendancy, it queried the wisdom of a strong opposition, saying that it was a waste of time since the ruling BN always listens to the people.

 

Well, now it looks like they have embraced the wisdom of a strong opposition and the effectiveness of a check and balance to make the ruling party more accountable to the rakyat.

 

Make BN eat more humble pie, people. They are getting to embrace our point of view.

 

Anonymous_3f4b: In spite of MCA facing near total annihilation in the last general elections and being the underdogs now even among the Chinese voters, BN still find it fit to award the candidacy to MCA to contest the Kajang state seat.

 

This shows that BN is fair and does not forsake their component parties even if they have lost support. PPP is another good example.

 

However this cannot be said of Pakatan Rakyat, which has the arrogance and audacity to dump PSM in the last elections. So much for justice, equality and fair play.

 

Selangor needs an effective multiracial opposition and Chew for the MCA fits the bill. A two-thirds majority breeds insolence and corruption as oft quoted by Pakatan, so their super majority must be denied.

 

What better way to put Chew into the state assembly and carry the voice of the Chinese in the Selangor opposition, in tandem with her Malay counterparts.

 

J Ng: What “check and balance”, “true democracy” and “assisting rakyat” rubbish is MCA talking? MCA has been part of the team in BN in destroying all the above for so many years.

 

Check and balance means sharing of wealth within BN leadership and getting NGOs to protest unruly in the name of race and religion.

 

“True democracy” means democracy according to BN and finally “assisting rakyat” means only rakyat that are cronies within BN. BN has clearly played out rakyat who voted for them in the last GE.

 

CQ Muar: Calling all good people of Kajang - be they Malay, Chinese, Indians and others. Be forewarned of BN's ploy and lies as had proven shortly after GE13!

 

Do not be deceived by all their empty promises like those made by PM Najib Razak during the election campaign. This is one golden opportunity to crush them, and this can only be possible under the leadership of Anwar.

 

As for MCA, the Chinese had been deceived by them for over five decades by their acquiescing to the demands of Umno. We must never be fooled by them again knowing their personal agendas.

 

Once and for all, destroy their dreams by giving Anwar your full support and teach those corruptible Umno-BN parasites an unforgettable lesson.

 

Too Lan: The last people we need to look after our affairs would be BN and particularly Umno.

 

No thanks, we trust Pakatan. They have proven to be efficient and honest. Mei Fun, you are not representing the people, you are representing Umno. Even your candidacy was announced by Umno at the Umno headquarters.

 

True_Malaysian: Umno opposition is good enough. There is no need to have a MCA candidate to strengthen it further.

 

Cocomomo: Despite the reservations some may have about this by election and though this is for a state seat, Kajang voters should show their disgust for the way the BN federal government is ruining this country through its incompetence, corruption and failure to properly address racism and religious extremism by not voting for BN.

 

Fair&Just: I will not vote for her - remember the reason she gave for the Chinese to vote for her in GE12? Hint: To prevent something similar to 1969 from happening.
