The water level at Air Itam Dam is at 74 percent capacity, and Mengkuang Dam at 50 percent capacity, while Teluk Bahang Dam is at 90 percent capacity.
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng urged people in the state to use water wisely and to reduce wastage.
"Water usage in Penang is very scary. We are number one in terms of efficiency and also number one in terms of wastage due to the low water tariffs," he told reporters after visiting the Air Itam Dam in George Town today.
Penang recorded the highest water consumption in the country, with 300 litres per person daily compared to the national average of 215 litres.
