YOURSAY 'Look at all those greedy faces saying, ah, at last, we're in business again.'

MCA reverses 'no cabinet post' ruling

Soo Jin Hou: MCA is reversing its decision it had used to blackmail the Chinese community for votes in GE13. Now you are eating your own words. So much for MCA's Kajang candidate Chew Mei Fun talking about MCA honouring its words. What a joke!

Bystander: MCA chief Liow Tiong Lai and the 99.9% of the MCA members have been salivating for the past seven months seeing their fortunes stalled with their sandiwara decision of not holding any government posts pre‑GE13 to portray them as being an honourable and righteous party! What a shame. MCA should stand for "Money Collecting Agency" for all the self-serving members.

Onyourtoes: Yes, yes, yes, there's no time to waste. Already more than seven months of salaries and perks forgone. Imagine how much to lose further if this resolution is not quickly reversed. Don't forget, MCA is not here to serve but for its leaders to enjoy the positions, salaries and perks due to them.

Clearwater: MCA leaders rejoining the gravy train that is the BN government won't help the Chinese community. It can only help themselves.

Anonymous_1371515574: MCA tried to hold the Chinese hostage by making that statement before the elections, in hopes of stirring fear that the Chinese will lose out.

Now that elections over and the Chinese have shown them that they are not going to be held hostage, they do this thing that goes to prove beyond a doubt that all MCA is good for is enriching themselves. Personally I think this is the final nail in the coffin for MCA...

Anonymous #94432660: Less than one year ago more than 50% of MCA delegates supported the 'no government posts' position agenda, and now more than 90% support to take up positions in government? Are there two groups of central delegates? I am confused, really confused.

Multi Racial: Within a period of a few short months the same delegates can just change their mind. What does it prove to Malaysians particularly the Chinese? That MCA delegates don't have brains, they just follow what their leaders tell them to do, rightly or wrongly. Now MCA has become a joke.

Samurai: This is how long MCA's word and principles is good for - less than a year. And they want the Chinese to trust them? Have some principles, get a backbone, and that might happen. Or not, from the looks of their shameless behaviour.

ZhangFei: They are desperate to join the cabinet, probably as their bungalows' bills are many months outstanding. They have to dig here and there to foot their bills. If not the banks will sue them to bankruptcy, and they will lose even more face.

Fn: You MCA fellows have no shame. Every day Utusan Malaysia is whacking the Chinese, tak malukah ? You people have no dignity at all.

Pemerhati: Happy days are here again as there will be money, money and more money from the fat salaries, perks, and most importantly through massive kickbacks from corrupt deals and influence pedalling.

Of course the tuans in Umno will only allow their MCA underlings to steal a fraction of what they steal, but then the MCA beggars cannot be choosers.

Headhunter: Now let's watch them crawling to beg Umno for ministerial posts.

Anonymous_4031: MCA may join the cabinet, state excos, local councils, etc. That is the new position of the party. But, what the hell have they been doing for more than 50 years in the coalitions the Alliance and the Barisan Nasional?

Even the simple issue of appointing Chinese schoolteachers of those graduates who are still waiting could not be settled at once. Why is the Education Ministry dragging its feet? Several Chinese schools have been employing temporary teachers and parents and teachers associations (PTA) have been footing the salary bills for decades.

What have MCA ministers been doing all these years? They are more interested in their positions, with all the perks, allowances and glory. Even the position of Finance Minister, earlier held by a MCA man, has been taken away and now permanently occupied by Umno men.

Even while holding the Housing Ministry, a MCA man could not help much in solving rising cost of housing. He could not implement a one‑stop centre, thereby cutting down red tape of having to go through 17 departments.

Open Minded: MCA, in or out does not make a big difference. You have been and will always be a stooge to Umno. Why don't you try asking for the finance, foreign or education minister positions, and see Umno's reaction.

Basically: They now want to join the cabinet to help the Chinese? MCA has been the biggest partner to Umno for over 50 years, but has any MCA member ever been appointed deputy prime minister? What a sham.

Kawak: These bunch of Umno lapdogs led by their leader are eagerly waiting to be appointed to the cabinet or any other government positions. They are salivating to hold those positions. This is all about personal interest. MCA, you cannot cheat the Chinese community anymore with Internet news.

Anonymous_4056: All MCA members from the top leader to its ordinary level members are in MCA for something for themselves. Otherwise they would not want to be running dogs for Umno.

To a Chinese the running dog label is a very disgraceful thing but those MCA members couldn't care less, they are shameless and have no face as long as they get some rewards. It is because of their greed that thee entire Chinese community here has been marginalised by Umno.

Podeh: Look at all those greedy faces and salivating mouths.... they seem to say, "Ahh, at last, we're in business again." We shall manufacture something bigger than Port Klang Free Trade Zone (PKFZ), they ain't seen nothing yet; we'll give them the mother of all scandals.

We'll teach them who the masters of corruption are, we ain't called MCA for nothing, you know.

Siang Malam: MCA has never kept their word, that is the main reason the Chinese community have never trusted them and will never, ever trust them...
