Zaid: Anwar had hand in Umcedel Kajang survey

FellowMalaysian: Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim does not need help from Umcedel (Universiti Malaya Centre for Democracy and Elections) director Mohammad Redzuan Othman's to bolster his image or popularity.

With opponents such as former minister Zaid Ibrahim and MCA’s Chew Mei Fun, the contest for the Kajang seat is as good as decided.

But why is Anwar still campaigning daily? To use Kajang as a platform for Pakatan Rakyat and PKR to launch their attack on Putrajaya.

A sly and shrewd politician like Anwar will not tell you his next move because he himself do not know; i.e. his next course of action remains very fluid as in the current scenario, the political situation can manifest itself as a new entity within days.

Spinnot: Zaid, nomination day and polling day are not too far away now. Why not use your time and energy on real issues facing Kajang voters instead of engaging in personal attacks? Perhaps that will save you from forfeiting your deposit.

Aries46: Zaid, oh Zaid! Apa sudah jadi? (What has happened?) He was such a well-respected law minister once and people looked up to him as prime minister material for his many principled stands and more so when he dumped Umno on matters of principle and joined PKR.

Many were disappointed and sympathised with him when he lost in the Hulu Selangor by-election. Even when he quit PKR following the election spat with PKR deputy president Azmin Ali and Anwar, many gave him the benefit of the doubt and continued to hold him in high esteem.

Then he made an ass of himself with that Kita debacle and now he seem to have hit the pits with this foolish Kajang move as an independent ‘spoiler’.

What a tragedy for a man who was so loved and had so much going for him to have declined to this level in politics.

Wira: There is no issue with the survey if the result is a true reflection of the opinion expressed by the voters in Kajang, based on an acceptable sampling method adopted by Umcedel.

Is Zaid suggesting that Redzuan cheated? If that is so, he should show proof of such a deceit.

Swipenter: Zaid what is stopping you from requesting Umcedel to do a survey on your chances in the Kajang by-election?

Are you are implying that Umcedel rigged the survey by calling those surveyed on a selective basis or given a list of who to call?

Anonymous: #13957745: Zaid, before this, we respected you and your views and principles through and through. Now, all these have gone down the drain. I don't know what game you are up to, but rest assured, you will lose your deposit in this by-election.

Appum: Zaid, on the ground, MCA’s candidate Chew has more clout than you. Don't even talk of Anwar. In order to save your embarrassing self-destruction, just announce your withdrawal.

There is a good three weeks before nomination so it's still not yet too late. Maintain the public respect for you which has developed through your positive actions previously. Why destroy it? For what?

The more nonsense you churn out in this futile battle, the more you damage the public’s respect of you.

Starwars: Come on, let Zaid say his piece. Let's be fair.

Hank Marvin: It looks like Zaid knows that the game is over for him. He would be better off if he rethinks his intention to contest.

The Kajang by-election should be a straight fight between Umno (represented by MCA) and Pakatan Rakyat (Anwar Ibrahim).

Too Lan: Zaid, be a man and stand as a candidate. I know you will not at the last minute. You are just hungry for attention and media space. Really, you are another case of hero to zero.

Terjah: Zaid, would it better if the survey said that most of Kajang folk want you to represent them even though you will not be able to provide good service to them?

You can’t even manage your own party Kita which you formed, now you are talking that you are better than Anwar. Please look at the mirror and ask yourself, what have done or contributed to the people, and how much Anwar has helped you when you were in PKR.

Why don’t you organise a ceramah and find out how many people will waste their time to listen to you? Don’t just give a stupid press statement.

The more nonsense you churn out in this futile battle, the more you damage the public’s respect of you.

Sinner: Zaid, you disappoint me. I thought you want to contest in Kajang because you are as you claim, brave to say the true things about Malay rights and the religion of Islam when others dare not.

Now it appears that your agenda is to play spoiler to your former party leader whom you have an axe to grind. It is a sad day. I had pinned some hopes on you as someone with principles. Yes, you disappoint me.

Truth1: Oh, you poor little man, Zaid Ibrahim. The Umcedel head may share the same barber as Anwar, wear the same brand underwear as him, and probably was born in the same hospital as Anwar, delivered by the same doctor.

But all this won't make any difference because, fact is, you are going to lose your pants (and your deposit) in what will be seen as your ‘bye-bye’ elections.

My Opinion: Zaid is only in it for his own personal gratification. He is not doing for the rakyat. He knows he cannot win but he wants to make everybody a loser.
