The police have recorded Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim's statement over the fracas involving T-Team and Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in Larkin on Feb 1.

Malay-language daily Utusan Malaysia today quoted Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar confirming this, but he declined to elaborate since investigations are ongoing.

"No yet…" Khalid is quoted as saying when asked if the investigations papers were ready to be submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers.

Police are believed to have recorded statements from more than 20 individuals in Terengganu and Johor to assist in investigations under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which is on intentionally causing hurt.

The law provides for up to a year in jail, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both, upon conviction.

The fracas took place during the second round of the FA Cup at Stadium Tan Sri Haji Hassan Yunos, with T-Team player Evaldo Rodrigues and fitness trainer Stefano Impagiazzo claiming to have been roughed up in the tunnel when heading to the changing room during the half-time break.

T-Team lodged a police report on the matter after returning to Kuala Terengganu, whereas the Johor State Football Club followed suit afterwards.

Terengganu police chief Jamshah Mustapa said on Feb 10 that statements have been recorded from 17 individuals after the police report was lodged.
