The High Court in Kuantan again postponed the case on the head of the ‘Tuhan Harun’ deviationist teachings, Harun Mat Saat and three of his followers who are accused of killing Pahang Islamic Religious Department (Jaip) principal assistant head of enforcement, Ahmad Raffli Abd Malek to March 17.

Justice Ab Karim Ab Rahman today fixed the date following the application by deputy public prosecutor Khalmizah Salleh that the court hear simultaneously the murder case and abetment to murder which were only submitted yesterday.

In addition, counsel Hermes Media Putra Ibrahim, who represented all the four accused, also made an application that the court granted bail to Harun, 48, based on the health factor.

Ab Karim later fixed both applications to be heard simultaneously on that date.

On Dec 16 last year, one of the followers of the deviationist teaching, Sumustapha Suradi, 39, from Sabah, pleaded not guilty to killing Ahmad Raffli, 49, in front of the victim’s house at Lorong IM2/29, Bandar Indera Mahkota, in Kuantan at 1.50pm on Nov 10.

The charge was made under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

Harun, his wife, Azida Mohd Zol, 30, and another of his followers, Shaizral Eddie Nizam Shaari, 37, also claimed trial to the charge of agreeing with Sumustapha to commit criminal conspiracy that led to the killing of Ahmad Raffli.
