FREE YOURSAY ‘The MOU that Waytha signed has become a piece of worthless paper.’

Waytha: Let Kajang be Indian referendum on BN

Cry, My Beloved Country: Here is an opportunity for Indian Malaysians in Kajang, on behalf of all Indian Malaysians, to send a clear message to MIC and its political masters that enough is enough, that ‘nambikei’ was just an election gimmick, and huge garlands were just that, huge garlands.

A minority, yes, but a minority standing together at the ballot box for inalienable rights, a minority that will not trade inalienable rights for a bowl of porridge, the privilege of kissing hands, or catchy slogans, whose cynicism is so clearly etched in practices for all to see.

Mushiro: Persatuan Hindraf Malaysia chief P Waythamoorthy is shrewd to declare that Kajang by-election be an Indian referendum on BN. Is Waytha going to claim an Anwar Ibrahim win as a Hindraf win, too?

James1067: Waytha, at the end of the day, it will be deeds that will show your contribution to society. It is not statements, attacks or even insults that will get you anywhere. Fifty-years of experience would have shown you that by now.

It will be advisable for you to go on the ground and set up a scholarship fund or even an employment agency, as well as to network with all levels of the Indian society to try and solve whatever woes you can.

Start and prove yourself to the Indians that they can put their faith in you. It will take a while but in the end you will achieve what you intend for the poor Indians.

Don't beg from the politicians as time have proven time and again that their interest comes first before the people.

Seng Low: In GE13, didn’t Anwar go to the Malay heartland campaigning on Malay rights?

So how is it the Pakatan supporters living in a delusion that Malaysia would be free of race-based politics if Pakatan takes over.

PAS is just waiting to implement hudud once they take over Putrajaya. DAP would be left alone. One has to be careful in not assuming Pakatan leaders are all angels.

Anonymous #039163649: Indians, please give PKR the boot. They are more vicious, more corrupt, more racist and more insulting to Indians than BN.

Sheila Nair: Hindraf and Waytha is the last hope for the Indians in this country. Even the lady who sells flowers in the temple is saying it’s difficult to come by a man like Waytha.

Waytha has great support among the poor Indians in this country.

Anticonmen: Waytha, you and your brother have demonstrated a fighting spirit, patience and honour in fighting for the marginalised Indians.

It shows that both of you have better leadership and professionalism anytime than any of the BN creeps or the Pakatan opportunists.

Not Convinced: Waytha will have my support if he goes to Kajang prison and beg forgiveness from his elder brother, Uthayakumar, for betraying him.

ChaSL: Waytha, the MOU that you signed with Najib has become a piece of worthless paper. You should frame it up and remind yourself of your failure in epic proportion.

You have neither moral integrity nor authority to speak on behalf the Indian community in this country.

SS Dhaliwal: This mentality of asking for handouts will never make the Tamils independent.

The core of the issue is that these people were left behind because of the caste system, the higher caste Hindus refused to help the lower caste Tamils in the estates and this includes MIC.

So Hindraf should first seek to abolish the caste system first and then all else will fall into place.

Jiminy Qrikert: Urging will not work, Waytha. You better start another hunger strike to make sure they will do that. This time do it for real. No sustenance at all, ya.

Anak, Bangsa, Malaysia: Waytha, you should go around and tell the Indian voters in Kajang how dangerous is Umno-BN in not wanting to help raise the status of the Indian community.

Tell them all of your frustration and the lies Umno-BN has been telling all these years.

Awakened: Since the formation of Hindraf in 2007, nothing concrete and tangible has been achieved. The leaders are only good at blaming others for not eradicating poverty in the Indian community.

If Hindraf leaders has genuine concerns for the Indian poor, they could have form a few subcommittees like education committee, housing committee, etc, to start something small and slowly grow it. You do not need to always depend on the government.

Nah! Nah! Nah!: When the majority of Malaysians were making their choice, Waytha chose to dance with the devil. Now that he does not get what he wants, he bombards the devil to cover his own sins.

Worried Sick: Waytha, please, if you so strongly feel that the BN government has neglected the Indians all these years (which is of course true), go to Kajang and tell the people there to vote for DSAI (Anwar).

Do not expect Umno leaders Khairy Jamaluddin and Hishammuddin Hussein to do it for you. Why should they help you?

You fell into the BN trap willingly and now you are hoisted by your own petard.
