An Upko leader’s appeal for fair flood aid distribution proves that the federal government discriminates against Sabah, says PKR Sabah vice-chief Terrence Siambun.

He referred to Upko vice-president Marcus Mojigoh’s statement on Tuesday, claiming that flood victims in Pahang are getting better treatment than their Sabah counterparts.

Upko is a component party of BN that runs the state.

“We do not want these people to think that they are being taken for granted. Why should there be any double standards in the distribution of assistance?

“I am not being sensitive on the issue, just disappointed. This is our duty to the people, and that is, to lighten their burden,” he was quoted as saying in the Borneo Post .

Terrence, who is also the Moyog assemblyperson, urged Mojigoh to join Pakatan Rakyat to ‘make good with all the mistakes made by BN’.

“He (Mojigoh) has been a BN member of Parliament for almost 15 years now and he himself has shown that he has no more confidence in BN,” Terrence said in a statement yesterday.
