BN policy in giving funding to the rakyat is based on the people's needs, and not selective during general election or by-election campaigns.
MCA vice-president Chew Mei Fun said the funding was the norm, based on BN's practices in the past.
However, the people received the wrong message (over the funding), causing them to be misinformed that BN only gave allocations during the elections, she said, adding that it was not the truth.
"Regardless of the time and venue, MCA strives to serve the country and the people, wholeheartedly," said Chew, who is also BN candidate for the upcoming Kajang by-election, in a statement today.
She said elected representatives should listen to the people's views and look into their needs, as well as continue promoting the economic, cultural and social development of the country.
