Kajang folk should ask Zaid, 'Why are you here?'
YOURSAY ‘Are you prepared to serve Kajang or just bad-mouth Anwar to ensure he loses?’
'Anwar's Kajang move to escape sodomy charge'
WDA
:
Make up your mind, Zaid Ibrahim.
You earlier said Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim wants to become Selangor menteri besar because he wants to influence the water contract in Selangor.
Now you say it is because he wants to escape the sodomy charge.
All this after you initially supported Anwar for menteri besar (MB). Talk about being a flip-flopper.
The reason you gave for backtracking is weak. Were you not aware then that Anwar may want to become MB to escape the sodomy charge?
And you hinted that Anwar should take responsibility for his alleged wrongdoings. Are you not aware that the Kuala Lumpur High Court judge found him not guilty?
The ruling in that case gave us some hope for the independence of the judiciary. It is hard to believe now that this was something you spearheaded as the law minister in Ahmad Badawi's cabinet.
You tried to right the wrongs made by Badawi's predecessor. And now you sound just like former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Forget the judiciary! When did you lose your integrity, Zaid?
SenyumUnta: Zaid, what then is 'your move?' Are you prepared to serve Kajang or to bad-mouth Anwar to ensure he loses? The Kajang folk should ask Zaid, why are you here?
ABU member: Zaid, I hope you lose your deposit, why? You do not have a clue as to why you need to contest against Anwar. The reasons you threw out to the voters change over time. How to support such a leader?
Anonnona: This Zaid fellow seems to be obsessed with Anwar. I wonder why?
WSLAm: Zaid said "To be safe, there is no need for Anwar, Zaid Ibrahim is enough". No logic for just attacking Anwar - there are also other confirmed candidates.
Worried Sick: Zaid, Why are you so angry? Why so much malice? Tell the people of Kajang what you can do for them, not why they should not vote for Anwar.
Do not pre-empt the courts by implying that Anwar would be put in prison before March 23. You have your LLB and I am sure you know the meaning of 'contempt of court'. Don't push your luck, Zaid.
Versey: Former law mMinister Zaid Ibrahim's accusation that Anwar wants to use the position of menteri besar to save himself from the sodomy charge gives people the impression that so long one is a menteri besar, sodomy is not illegal.
Is it true that in Malaysia, there are two sets of laws, that sodomy is legal for anyone holding the MB position but not for ordinary citizen?
Oh Zaid, please tell us, what other things that are forbidden for ordinary citizens but legal for VIPs.
For example, does it mean that if a certain Mongolian lady was C4ed by an ordinary citizen, then only her family can see justice done in this land? The more I consider what you say, the more confused I get.
Not Smart: Zaid, you lost in the Ulu Selangor by-election despite the full support of PKR. By simple arithmetic, as an independent in Kajang, everyone can see your chances.
You have said that your kitty is running low and that you don't own legal firm Zaid Ibrahim any more. You are akin to a professional boxer, who when broke will get into the ring and take all the beatings, just for the cash and publicity.
Hope you remember the boxer George Foreman. You have lost your dignity, Zaid. Have you thought of what is there for you after the Kajang by-election, if you lose?
Let me tell you: you will be a beggar, not for money, but for recognition, as a simple man in the street.
Fair Play: Zaid has gone from hero to zero to...?
And one would have thought that he was among the few who had brains. Now his lines of reasoning and flip-flopping arguments pretty much sum up the person he really is.
Shanghaifish: Tell me sir, if Anwar becomes menteri besar, since when will he have immunity?
You mean to say he cannot be charged after that? When did you become a lawyer and which institution did you graduate from?
Kl man: People of Kajang, fellow Malaysians, If you want BN out, there is only one viable solution... Anwar. Ignore the rhetoric, No need to attend ceramah, rallies. Just vote for Anwar.
Jiminy Qrikert: Zaid should take a serious look at the latest PoliTweet poll results that puts 'support leaning towards' Pakatan-Anwar at more than two-thirds, vs Umcedel's earlier 58 percent in favour of Anwar.
He should note that even Malays are leaning towards Pakatan-Anwar. So Zaid’s campaigning in Malay areas is a sheer waste of his time and energy, especially when all he has to offer is a recycling of Umno-BN's sex attacks against Anwar.
Not Confused: What is this failed politician smoking? I’m sure if Anwar's acquittal is overturned, whether he is MB or not, will make zero difference. He could still be incarcerated or whatever the bent and twisted judiciary might decide.
Anonymous #25558299: Zaid Ibrahim, if you are a good Malay, and exposed to proper Islamic teachings, you shouldn't be condemning only Anwar every day in your talks and speeches.
Instead, talk on the good and profitable things that you can do for the Kajang rakyat.
Quigonbond: To begin with, Zaid should not be in this contest. Once, he spoke out against Umno/Perkasa’s racial and religious extremism.
Those are probably his only strong suits to be relevant as a politician. Therefore I truly wonder what motivates him to contest Kajang.
He's hardly the right candidate to conduct assassination when politicians far worse than him have tried and failed against Anwar.
Gunning down Anwar and getting downright nasty from day to day simply means there is no way he can ever be a friend of Pakatan, or even return to any of the Pakatan coalition partners.
Banzai: This guy has nothing to talk about himself and the benefits for Kajang if he wins the election. You have no points other than attacking Anwar. Do you deserve to win based on your arguments?
J Ng: Zaid is twisting and turning to mislead the public, Umno style. His political agenda now is to instil disharmony within PKR for the sake of weakening the Selangor government.
All his actions are no different from ex-PKR politicians-turned-BN supporters. As a lawyer, he knows perfectly well that the position of MB has no impact on the sodomy case.
MinahBulat: I really pity the crowd especially the children, free food is one thing but to listen to his drivel is another.
Here we have a lawyer who dares to stand and suggest that because Anwar was acquitted at the High Court and facing an appeal, he is not a good candidate to stand for Kajang?
Zaid, I though the legal system in Malaysia is that you are innocent until pronounced guilty. You seem to suggest it’s the other way round.
Where did you do your law? I hope your audience did not get indigestion.
