Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) will not send water tankers to areas under water rationing.
Syabas corporate communications and public affairs department assistant general manager Priscilla Alfred said water would however be supplied for critical situations such as funerals and places which include dialysis centres, hospitals and welfare homes.
"Residents in areas affected by rationing are advised to conserve water and use it sparingly only for important purposes. They should not waste it on washing their cars or porch, filling up swimming pools and watering gardens," she said in a statement here today.
The first phase of the water rationing plan following the closure of the 11th Mile Cheras and Bukit Tampoi water treatment plants due to the high content of ammonia in Sungai Langat, affected 71 areas with 60,185 houses started on Feb 27.
Whereas the second phase of the plan which was implemented following the reduction of raw water by 200 million litres per day from the Sungai Selangor dam involves 260 areas with 413,617 houses has entered its third day starting last Sunday.
