MIC man slams Palanivel for 'vanishing' in haze

Onyourtoes: Former MIC central working committee member S Vell Paari, what do you know about our current haze?

Environment minister and MIC president G Palanivel will be making another trip to Jakarta soon. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will be making another apology soon. Asean will convene another retreat soon. Leaders will gather soon in nice batik, holding hands and posing for photographs.

They will sit down to talk about weather and golf soon. And soon, when some people die of haze, they will ask you to buy the latest air purifiers which will be coming out soon.

Dont Just Talk : Except haze, everything of ‘value’ in Malaysia disappears, even the late Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu, who vanished into thin air, with no one found guilty of her murder.

True_Malaysian: Palanivel, use your power; sack Vell Paari and if necessary expel him from MIC.

As a party leader, he has acted beyond his position. His conduct is irresponsible. Who is he to question you on your responsibilities. Party discipline has been breached.

Anon1: Palanivel may be playing it safe because it is better to remain silent and let everyone think he is a fool, rather than to open his mouth and remove all doubt on the matter.

And you, Vell Paari, are going to be expelled from MIC which I think is what is being engineered here by the powers-that-be so that you can form a new party as ‘MIC-Part 2'. Obvious, isn't it?

Theeyes82: I love these infightings in MIC. In fact, I am surprised to see news on MIC. They have been rotting for many years, especially after Hindraf came into picture.

At least during S Samy Vellu's tenure, we hear a lot about the party. Palanivel is as good as a sleeping partner in the BN component. He is completely oblivious of his surroundings.

Vell Paari, I have read many of your press statements of late and I must say there are very interesting. Maybe you should consider jumping ship.

MA: If Vell Paari plays his political cards well, he'll have a good future. Firstly he must be seen helping all Malaysians and not selected Indians like what his father (Samy Vellu) did and MIC swears upon.

Hplooi: In China, it takes an outsider (Gary Locke, the American ambassador) to galvanise Chinese netizens (and the public) into awareness of the smog issue. He was so successful that the Chinese government in a case of sour grapes denigrated him.

Whither Malaysia? Our own protector of public health and the environment is vanishing in the haze.

Siang Malam: Palanivel was also caught with his pants down when questioned by a Al Jazeera journalist in its expose of ‘The Return of the Lizard King’ in November 2013 and has done nothing then or since then.

He is ineffective as a minister and should step down for someone more on the ball.

Cry, My Beloved Country: Palanivel is too busy working out the line-up for the next party elections and creating an appropriate environment for the undertaking to worry about trivial things such as the haze enveloping the country, the flash floods, and concerns about dengue.

'Tahinah' ... blunder mars congrats to Taib

Odin: My command of Malay spoken in Sarawak or taught in schools is very poor. If my understanding is correct, you say ‘nah' when you give something to someone.

It means more or less ‘here, take it' or ‘take this'. So, ‘tahi nah' would be sort of ‘Here is a piece of sh*t. Go on. Take it'.

This is very appropriate in the advertisement which appeared in Utusan Sarawak , I would venture to say. A typo? I don't think so.

Boiling Mud: Er... is it a new word to say 'congratulations' to corrupt public figures, including that self-proclaimed humble housewife?

I hope the court will not decree the new word a monopoly of some quarter that is inclined say things to make us laugh.

CucuMalaysia: I just don't understand how politics work in Malaysia. With all the evidence and cases of corruption against this man (Abdul Taib Mahmud), he could still be sworn in as governor. And with the blessing of the Agung too. Wow.
