The air quality in Muar remains unhealthy while that of Port Klang has worsened as at 4pm.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE) website, both Muar and Port Klang registered unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at 111 and 114 respectively.

Good API readings were recorded in 21 areas and moderate level in 28 areas.

Among areas having good API readings were Alor Setar (38), Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tanjung Chat, Kota Baru, Kelantan (45), Indera Mahkota, Pahang (43), Bintulu, Sarawak (28), and Paka, Terengganu (31).

Moderate API readings were registered in, among others, Pasir Gudang, Johor (52), Tanah Merah, Kelantan (60), Nilai, Negri Sembilan (77), Banting, Selangor (80).

API readings of between 0 and 50 are categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (dangerous).  

The public can refer to the DOE’s portal apims.doe.gov.my to obtain API readings in their respective areas.
