Federal Territories PAS Youth deputy chief Nurul Islam Mohamed Yusuff yesterday demanded that the Attorney-General’s Chambers reveal all nine investigation papers sent by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) regarding discrepancies pointed out in the Auditor-General’s Report, which the chambers had decided to drop .

“I ask the AGC to reveal all the investigation papers and reveal its justification in recommending that the cases be closed,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He was baffled how MACC and the AGC can “dismiss” allegations of misconduct among some civil servants since the Audit Report was very thorough.

“This is not a very small negligence in implementing procedures, there is a genuine suspicion here that must be investigated and ruled upon,” he said.

 

Nurul Islam said the MACC should be more professional and effective in its probe, and it should urge the AGC not to take lightly cases highlighted in the Audit Report.

“Issues of wastages and leakages are exposed every year by the Audit Department, but it is as though the matter is given a silent treatment...”.
