'Tainted' Anwar will be Chew-ed, says Soi Lek

Odysseus: MCA's Kajang candidate Chew Mei Fun may be pure as crystal but the whole MCA is tainted as they had chosen to remain to serve a president who had been tainted with a sex scandal.

Shall I vote for the one pure figure among the tainted MCA? The obvious answer is no. Perhaps all the other of MCA tainted candidates may be wiped out in GE14 based on the logic of their tainted ex-president.

Clearwater: This 'crystal pure' argument coming from a soiled one such as its former chief Chua Soi Lek is the height of irony and hypocrisy.

By his own logic, how did he ever become MCA president despite being caught on video with his pants down?

Aries46: Chua can call Chew whatever he wants - angel, pure as crystal - and she may be all of these for all we care.

But as long as she is associated with and stands for a corrupt crony-filled Umno as its running dog rejected in toto by its very own community, Miss Purity has lost every bit of moral high ground that is claimed, of all people, by a tainted leader himself.

YUNoAnon: Chua, your impression of Chew Mei Fun is full of irony and contradiction - you'll do her more favours by keeping quiet. Her being pure and a person of integrity but being in a party of people who're the opposite, it makes absolutely no difference...

In the end, she'll just be the same. If she really has integrity and was pure, she wouldn't be in MCA in the first place.

WT: When Chua said he's not being sarcastic, he's actually being sarcastic. He has the potential of becoming Mahathir No 2.

Multi Racial: It is so obvious Chua is being sarcastic. He means Chew will be the one who is "chewed". He is also being sarcastic when he said his successor Liow Tiong Lai has reformed the party by getting the party to allow their leaders to hold ministerial posts.

Onyourtoes: Chua, it is crystal clear what you said is correct - that it does not matter whether MCA is in or out of the cabinet. MCA stands indicted on all counts.

It is also crystal clear you said all these things because you are now out of the gravy train. This is the problem with men and women with no principles and honour seeking and holding public office.

Everything is argued and rationalised based on expediency, convenience and depravity.

For him to call Anwar "tainted" is slanderous, because repeatedly the courts have found Anwar innocent. He, on the other hand, is a person who has admitted that he is a perverted sexual offender.

He has admitted to having performed oral sex with a woman in Batu Pahat, and yet till today he has not been charged by the attorney-general. Is this not selective prosecution on the part of the powers-that-be, of which he was part of and still exerts influence on?

If anyone is tainted, it is Chua. His ability to avert trial in the face of all this is criminal because it is clearly selective prosecution of Anwar, who has not admitted to the crimes he has been charged with, while this man has and is roaming the streets scot-free.

When is he to be charged? The word out on the street is that if he has to be charged, those who had made the film of his sex act need to be as well, and they all come from the same party.

Haveagreatday: Chua, we shall see who will have the last laugh. Let's not pull punches - I believe there's much uneasiness over this forced by-election, but I believe the bottom line is this: has MCA done anything since GE13 to merit the rakyat of Kajang looking at it with a more forgiving eye?

Appum: I read that Umno leaders said this election shall be 'gentlemanly' with no personal attacks. Even Anwar has said this too and requested that debates should be based on issues of the nation.

From what I see and have read all this while, MCA doesn't seem to have any issue to attack Anwar personally - ‘tainted’, ‘sodomy’, ‘parachuted candidate’, etc.

From the tainted Chua to the toothless Liow and deputy Wee Ka Siong, they are trying to mislead Kajang folks of their impotent. Kajang folks are more intelligent and sophisticated than they think.

True_Malaysian: Politics and politicians are dirty. People with character, honesty and integrity will not go for this job. Ministers are likely to be known for sexual allegations, corruption and even murder.

There is no place in politics for a person who is "pure as crystal". If she is as claimed by Chua, she should become a Buddhist monk.

Dood: It seems the irony of making such a comment on personal morality isn't obvious to Soi Lek.
