No areas recorded unhealthy levels of air quality as at 2pm today as all the 52 monitored areas nationwide showed good or moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) readings.

According to the Department of Environment’s (DOE) website, among the areas with good air quality were Langkawi, Kedah (42), Tanah Merah, Kelantan (49), Jerantut, Pahang (38), Paka, Terengganu (42) and Labuan (46).

Meanwhile, among areas with moderate API readings were Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (58), Shah Alam, Selangor (72), Sri Aman, Sarawak (55), Kangar, Perlis (51), and Muar, Johor (76).

API readings of between 0 and 50 are categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (dangerous).

The public can refer to the portal apims.doe.gov.my to obtain API readings in their respective areas.
