Singapore has been experiencing hazy conditions since late afternoon today.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) reported that the Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) readings had been elevated since 5pm.

NEA said the haze might be attributed to hotspots in the north of Singapore, blown in by the prevailing north-easterly winds.

A total of four hotspots were detected in peninsular Malaysia and 35 in Sumatra.
