PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail today urged Pakatan Rakyat not to grieve too long over her husband and PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim's Sodomy II conviction yesterday.

"Tears are temporary. We will wipe our tears and we must move on," Wan Azizah said during a brief speech at the Pakatan Rakyat convention in Shah Alam today.

"We are united now and this is our strength. Let us not be split. Do not ever think you are alone in this struggle. We are together," Wan Azizah added.

She said despite her sadness over the ruling, she is still in good spirits.

At a press conference later, Anwar thanked all his supporters and well wishers who this morning expressed their solidarity and sympathy with him over the verdict by the appellate court.

"Even international support has been very good. I have received many calls and the US ambassador came to my house this morning to express his sympathy and concern over the way the court made the ruling," Anwar said in a brief meeting with the press.

He said the Pakatan Rakyat presidential council would meet later today and try to decide on a replacement candidate for Kajang as soon as possible.

It would also decide on whether to mobilise a crowd to take to the streets in response to the court ruling.

Anwar last night launched the Reformasi 2.0 movement.
