The cloud seeding operation scheduled for today and tomorrow has been put on hold to give priority to efforts to locate the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) aircraft.
 
Meteorological Department Atmospheric Science and Cloud Seeding Division director Azhar Ishak said according to the original plan, the cloud seeding operation was supposed to continue until March 16.
 
"Today, we'd assembled at the Royal Malaysian Air Force base at 1pm for the cloud seeding operation in Selangor and northern Negeri Sembilan, but had to call it off," he told Bernama today. 
 
Cloud seeding has been carried out in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor to improve water levels at critical dams in the Klang Valley due to the current dry spell.
 
MAS Flight MH370 went missing en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing after taking off from KLIA at 12.41 am on Saturday. It should have landed in Beijing at 6.30 am.
