Pakatan Rakyat's boycott of tomorrow's Parliament sitting in protest against the executive and judiciary is a betrayal of the people's mandate, said BN MPs today.

Tanjong Karang MP and Selangor Umno liasion chief Noh Omar said grouses over the Appellate Court's conviction of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim last Friday was a "personal issue" that must not be brought to Parliament.

"This is a personal issue. Parliament is a duty. This is breaking the people's trust," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby.

MCA vice-president Wee Ka Siong also echoed similar thoughts, saying that despite their grouses, a MP "is duty bound" to come to the house and represent the people at large.

"This is our duty," he said curtly.

Pakatan also boycotted this morning's royal parade in front of the King and also the royal banquet to be held for lunch in Parliament today.

The MPs merely listened to the King's speech and left.

Meanwhile Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang ( left ) urges Pakatan parliamentarians to reconsider the boycott as the country must stand united in the face of ongoing search efforts for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

“In such a moment, Malaysians should be united and set aside any differences.

“No one should try to cast any unnecessary tension within our country in the wake of such tragedy,” he said in a statement.
