Three areas, namely Bukit Rambai, Banting and Port Klang, recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 1pm today.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE) website, the API reading in the affected areas exceeds 100, with Bukit Rambai and Banting at 101 and Port Klang at 113.

A total of 33 areas recorded moderate API reading, like Muar (68), Nilai (72), Seri Manjung (66), Bintulu (55) and Putrajaya (76).

Sixteen areas registered good API and they include Kota Tinggi (27), Jerantut (33) and Samarahan (46).    

A good API reading ranges from 0 to 50; moderate, 51 to 100; unhealthy, 101 to 200; very unhealthy, 201 to 300 and dangerous, above 300.
