Teresa may refer Zahid to panel over 'wrong' answer
DAP’s Seputeh MP Teresa Kok has warned that she will refer Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to the Parliament’s rights and privileges committee should he fail to correct an allegedly misleading answer he gave to the Parliament regarding Kok’s Chinese New Year satire video.
In a written answer given to Kok’s colleague from Segambut, Lim Lip Eng, Ahmad Zahid ( left ) referred to the video as a video that “belittled the prime minister”.
He made the insinuation after Lim asked the ministry about the actions that the government would be taking against the two individuals who made a public offer to reward anyone that slapped Kok over her video.
Kok said that it was wrong for Ahmad Zahid to insinuate as such as Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak was not named in the video, and gave him until March 19 to correct the answer.
“Failing which, I will refer him to the rights and privileges committee,” Kok said.
She said that Ahmad Zahid should have watched the video himself as she had already added Malay subtitles to the controversial video entitled "ONEderful Malaysia".
It is "irresponsible" for the minister to give a "misleading parliamentary" answer, she added.
