KAJANG The recently-launched manifesto by PKR party president-cum-candidate for the Kajang by-election Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has been described as like a slap for the Pakatan-led Selangor state government.

MCA president Liow Tiong Lai said this showed the failures in the state government’s administration for the past five years, which forced Wan Azizah to launch another manifesto, aiming to improve several shortcoming in the Kajang local council.

“Wan Azizah’s manifesto is like a slap on the state government’s face as well as a reprimand, she knows very clearly that many matters remain unsolved,” he said.

On Wednesday, Wan Azizah introduced her manifesto, aiming at improvement of traffic conditions, combatting crime, and enhancement of urban planning.

Liow had also alleged that the state government is good at pointing fingers and blaming others.

Meanwhile, PKR Kajang by-election deputy director Zuraida Kamaruddin said that every candidate must put forth a manifesto regardless of whether his or her party is part of a sitting government.

“If you compare to the previous (state) government, of course we are so much better, but there is room for improvement,” she said.

She told reporters at the PKR operations room in Sungai Sekamat that this includes improving services provided by the local council.

She also said that Kajang Move was not included in the manifesto as it has already been explained to the constituency from the start.
