Ridiculous to link Anwar to missing plane

YOURSAY ‘Any guesses on who would have leaked this to Daily Mail?’

PKR refutes 'Anwar link' to lost MH370

Magnus: To the Daily Mail , I suggest you blame global warming on Muslims and Islam too.

Your knee-jerk thoughtlessness and hypocrisy comes reeking through by inferring that MH370 pilot captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah could have intentionally crashed his plane and murdered 239 people.

Doc: We may as well blame the Raja Bomoh debacle on Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim. On top of that, Umno should also blame Anwar for the haze, water shortage, lack of rain and failed cloud seeding process on him too.

Aries46: Any guesses on who would have leaked this to the Daily Mail ? Of all the cock and bull theories that have been making the news since the disappearance of MH370, this one on the Anwar connection seems more credible.

As according to Anwar, he is supposed to be the Malaysian Superman responsible for the never-ending bungles of the Umno-BN clowns.

Kee Thuan Chye: The implication of a link is ridiculous. What has the pilot's politics got to do with the fact that the plane is missing?

What would he achieve by hijacking the plane - if he had indeed intended it? Are some parties trying to make political capital out of this and/or using it to deflect blame from the poor handling of the crisis by the authorities?

Vijay47: Let us for the moment, for the sake of argument, concede that Zaharie is an avid PKR member, had attended the Anwar case in court, and was upset over how the court came to its decision. So?

There are so many others who share the same three factors that Zaharies went through. Are we to assume that we are soon going to have a spate of missing planes, buses, ships, lorries, and bicycles?

Armchair Newspaper: The Malaysian government and Umno should know that you do not cut off Malaysia's nose to spite Anwar’s face.

Investigations so far have not even proven that the plane was indeed commandeered by the pilot at the relevant time when it went missing. China and the international community will view this shifting of blame as proof of Malaysia’s continued prevarication and cover-up.

It is bad enough MAS is already thrashed as our national airline and will require billions of taxpayer funds to rehabilitate, PM Najib Razak should also understand that there will be tremendous harm to Malaysia diplomatically, politically and economically if the investigation to the loss of MH370 is a cover-up and a political scapegoating to end Anwar’s political life.

Anonymous_1392788512: In societies where the leader is honourable, he would accept the blame and resign from his post out of love for the country. That’s the way to show remorse to the families of the missing passengers. But no, not in Malaysia.

In Malaysia, we cook up stories to blame the pilot who can’t even defend himself so that the PM and his cousin, acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, can try to preserve power a little bit longer.

NAK: My dear countrymen, if you choose to believe this utter nonsense, I am afraid in future all our top rival politicians will need to find out first who the pilots are before they board the plane.

UBA: Truth be told, if it turns out the hijacking was an inside job, the ones with the stolen billions and complete control of the Special Branch, UTK (Unit Tindakan Khas), immigration and MAS would be the hardcore Mahathirite faction, not anyone from Pakatan Rakyat.

Like the majority who voted Pakatan Rakyat on May 5, 2013, Zaharie Ahmad Shah was probably infuriated by the unconcealed persecution of Anwar Ibrahim.

But as a long serving professional pilot with a good track record, it's totally unlikely he would endanger the lives of so many innocent passengers just to make a political statement.

On the other hand, the entire episode has effectively stolen the limelight from the Kajang Move and the unjust conviction and sentencing of both Anwar and Karpal Singh. It's obvious where three fingers are pointing back.

FairMind: By being concern for the injustice in the court decision in jailing Anwar, pilot Zaharie came across a man who cares for social injustice. Such a man would never put lives into jeopardy.

If the police are looking into this angle, they should also look into Umno. Umno is the de facto owner of MAS which is beset with billions of losses.

Isn't sabotage by Umno a higher possibility than Anwar based on the fact that it stood to gain tremendously on its insurance claim, pinning the blame on it main political adversary, provide the most powerful Kajang by-election campaigning material and erasing the public anger on the endless blunders that the government has created since day one - all at one stroke of the pen?

Anonymous_3e86: Does the fact that 53 percent of the voters voted for Pakatan Rakyat mean that all these voters will resort to violence and terrorism if they don't agree to the court verdict?

In order to increase their circulation, these newspapers sensationalise or even distort their news, like Utusan Malaysia .

Legit: I was wondering what took them so long to blame this crisis on Anwar. Anwar must be so powerful that nothing goes on in Malaysia without his 'involvement'.

After the dust has settled, Malaysians seriously need to ask themselves whether if this is the way they want their country to be run and whether this is the bunch of leaders this country deserves. The country as a whole requires some serious soul searching.
