YOURSAY ‘Someone in RMAF must be held responsible for sleeping on the job.’

MP, ex-pilot bombard Air Force over MH370

Oh Ya?: What do you expect? Bolehland's heads of institutions be they PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police), the military, Attorney-General’s Chambers or the judiciary are all appointed by their political masters.

At that wee hour of the morning, the poor guys on radar duty would be scolded if they dared to wake up their bosses for instructions.

In any event, I bet our fighter jets may not be airworthy. For all you know their engines might have been stolen and sold to some African countries and genuine parts are substituted by fake parts to enrich cronies in this corrupt Bolehland.

Whitehead: At the press conference given by acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein and team on the fifth day after the MH370 went missing, it was unbelievable to hear the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) chief commenting that they were still analysing their radar to see if the unidentified object (now confirmed as MH370) was considered "hostile", thereby no action was taken at that point in time.

SpongeBob: The tragedy of Flight MH370 would not have prolonged this long if the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) and Malaysia Airlines (MAS) alerted the RMAF the moment communication with this flight had been lost.

The requirement of immediate alertness on the part of the RMAF on any unidentified plane in our air space could have prevented this tragedy.

This tragedy could have been avoided if alertness had been shown by MAS, DCA and RMAF. Therefore, there is gross negligence on their part.

Oriole: For the longest time, this government has refused to respond to questions posed by the nation's people. Instead, any question was met with the threat of repressive laws and brutish police detention.

All that lack of accountability is now coming home to roost. Now you have the world asking questions. That is ironic.

Abasir: The sole focus of the regime is on clinging on to power. All organs of government, all agencies and establishments are fine-tuned to that one goal.

Such single-minded focus means that loyalty to the regime and its leaders takes precedence and is far more important than competence when it comes to all critical appointments.

This is one fact which most Malaysians have been painfully aware of and which now has become obvious to the rest of the world.

So the questions will keep coming at the 5.30pm televised international interrogation and with each varying answer, the truth will be established.

Incompetence and negligence, both gross and criminal, are the hallmarks of this regime.

Joe Lee: Both in the 2008 and 2013 general elections, the generals were roped in to support Umno's electioneering, including warning the ‘pendatang’ (foreigners) not to vote for the opposition.

Now we know the shocking truth about the whole lot of them sleeping on the job. It’s confirmed we have a degraded and dysfunctional RMAF.

It wouldn't take more than two days for ‘kiasu’ Singaporeans to gain full control of the skies over the whole peninsula; the Malaysian armed forces would then become sitting ducks for the Israeli/Australian/American-trained Singaporean armed forces.

Perkasa should think about flying the white flag against the ‘pendatang’ across the Causeway who have now become superior economically and militarily.

Mushiro: I guess the RMAF was busy preparing to deliver the air force votes for the Kajang by-election when they saw MH370 crossing into the Strait of Malacca on their radar.

Anonymous#007: The rakyat, through the opposition, should scrutinise all military spending in the last 50 years.

Swipenter: Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad believes that 9/11 was staged by the Americans themselves in order to justify going to war over oil and geopolitics.

So if this missing MH370 was staged by Bolehland itself, this is not unbelievable, done to pin the blame on Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim because of the Kajang by-election.

Bystander: We were fortunate that whoever was in command of the plane when MH370 turned back did not head towards Kuala Lumpur.

It will be too late for those to take action when all it needed was less than one hour to smash into the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (Twin Towers). Someone must be held responsible for sleeping on the job.

Joseph Lee: The entire RMAF staff officers were out trying to send a fellow air force major to jail and strip him of his pension.

Clearly, an unknown aircraft flying into our airspace is not their concern.

Apache: They cannot detect a huge plane with their million-ringgit radar after 10 days but they can detect some sperm on someone’s anus after four days.
