BALINGIAN Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) will launch its own manifesto for the Balingian state by-election, highlighting specific issues that plagued the Balingian residents for years.

Sarawak PKR chairperson Baru Bian ( right ) said among the content of the manifesto would be education infrastructure, social and environment as well as national issues such as high cost of living, corruption and transparency.

“For example this area (Balingian) needs a primary and a secondary schools, enviromental concern caused by the smelter plant here and the lack of development,” he said at the party’s daily media conference in Mukah today.

Baru said the manifesto would allow the voters in Balingian to make an informed decision before casting their votes this March 29.

Earlier, PKR candidate Abdul Jalil Bujang kicked off his campaign trail by doing a walkabout at Mukah wet market with PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu and party supporters.

Abdul Jalil is facing former Dalat district officer Yussibnosh Balo of Barisan Nasional (BN) in a straight fight in the by-election.
