BN candidate for the Kajang state by-election Chew Mei Fun has ticked off Selangor state executive councillor Teng Chang Khim for ridiculing her credibility.

Chew described Teng's call for her to withdraw her candidacy within 48 hours and accept an offer to be appointed a councillor as demeaning.

"If I wanted to be a councillor, it makes no sense that I should resign as deputy women, family and community development minister in 2010 ," she told reporters after attending an event organised by the Umno Club for Retired Senior Government Officers in Kajang today.

At a ceramah yesterday, Teng, who is Selangor Local Government, Study and Research Committee chairman, said if Chew were to withdraw from the contest she would be appointed Kajang Municipal Council councillor.

"Pakatan Rakyat is casting doubt on my credibility as they realise that I have a good track record and had proved my worth to voters in Petaling Jaya Utara," she said.
