Wan Junaidi: Non-Malays 'more accepting' of child rape

Yunoanon: Now I feel insulted. On what basis did you, Deputy Home Minister Wan Junaidi Wan Jaafar, come to this conclusion? Do you have any data to corroborate your theory (that Malays are more sensitive to cases of statutory rape, and so are more inclined to report it)?

If you do not have any proof to back up your claims, then you are racist. This is a racist statement. Those who are sensible, mature and wise, know how to differentiate right from wrong.

Chks: Going by the argument of Wan Junaidi, there is a baseline number of child rapists among Malays and non-Malays and the number of Malay child victims (below 16 years of age) or their parents who reported such cases are higher compared to that of the non-Malays; hence the statistics captured is higher among Malays.

But, there is no way he can prove this. Show the evidence that there is:

1) Equal or more number of total child rape cases (reported and unreported) among non-Malays compared to Malays.

2) That the percentage of unreported cases among non-Malays are higher than that of the Malays.

Prove it. Otherwise don't slander. In fact, judging by the principle of Occam's razor, the simplest hypothesis with the least assumptions is the correct one. Hence, the number of child rapists among Malays are higher because indeed the number of child rapists among Malays are higher.

Instead of being defensive, he should sound the alarm and do something to arrest this issue.

Multi Racial: Every time a BN minister opens his or her mouth, they make you wonder how they are appointed a minister’s post in the first place. Wan Junaidi, no human of any religion, race or nationaly can accept child rape.  

Please don't ever make such comments. Your comment is an insult to both the Malays and non-Malays. You must apologise to all Malaysians, particularly the non-Malays, for your idiotic comment.

Myop101: What kind of nonsensical diatribe is this idiot spewing? Rape, in all form, is not only not acceptable, but deplored by all races.

Don't generalise but instead find out why. Go to the root cause of the problem and solve it. If you want a solution, consider introducing sex education to the young.

Wira: Wan Junaidi, every community abhors child rape. The probable reason why there are more child rapes reported among the Malay community is simply because this despicable act is more prevalent in the community.

Swell2: This country is run by a pack of fools and the poor Malaysian public have to put up with all of this nonsense day in and day out. Many of the ministers are not fit to run a stall at the local market, never mind a country.

Their level of thinking is so inept, their statements so moronic, that is it plain to see that these individuals didn't get into these positions because of their intelligence but through some cronyism or some other shady means, which is terrible, terrible for this country.

Mr Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, do your job and boot such people out. This is so unacceptable on so many levels.

Hytan: Wan Junaidi, not only are you racist, but stupid as well. Instead of looking into ways on how to better educate the overall society on this social ill and propose more severe punishment for the offenders, you are simply deflecting the issue which seemingly piqued that your community has the most offenders.   

Gotcha: Wan Junaidi, do you know many more of your kind may not have reported for fear of shame. Reported case may only be the tip of the iceberg. Majority of non-Malays will not condone to such acts on minors.

You as deputy minister should have common sense and better choice of words. Think before you talk and make statements, for your own good.

Too Lan: You know what he will say next? That since 2012 there has been a drop of 8 percent in statutory rapes. Therefore government policy is working. Wan Junaidi, instead of putting blinkers on, do something positive. Stupid is as stupid speaks.

Ferdtan: Tell us how you can prevent in future this heinous problem of child rape, especially by the Malay population?

Obviously, it is not to deny that the problem exist. Or from your illogical statement, are you saying that if the number of cases among non-Malay criminals is perceptively higher than the Malays, it would not be the problem? What a childish statement from an ‘educated’ minister.

It is like to console himself - we (the Malays) are not so bad, while the others, the non-Malays, are worse.

Our country cannot improve if we have such cowardly leaders who dare not face challenges and problems.

This disease had even struck our PM who had practically ‘disappeared’ from the scene in handling the missing MH370 plane.

Whatsup: Blaming other communities as more acceptable to such crimes is seditious and racist. Wan Junaidi should instead embark on programmes to educate the various communities, and not sweep the problem under the carpet.    

Doc: Is there some top secret criteria imposed by Umno’s supreme governing body that one needs to be an certified imbecile after under going a IQ test before he can become an Umno minister?
