PKR has condemned the circulation of a doctored photograph of BN’s Kajang candidate Chew Mei Fun portraying her in a bikini.

Selangor PKR information chief Shuhaimi Shafiei said the superimposition of Chew’s face over the image of a bikini-clad model is disgusting and immoral.

“We urge Chew and MCA to report this to the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

“We view this act as disgusting and immoral, and as an insult to women. Although she is our rival... we don’t want any party to use this opportunity for such disgraceful slander,” he told a press conference today.

Two days ago, MCA women’s chief Heng Seai Kie held a press conference claiming that the photo was the work of Pakatan Rakyat supporters.

She said the fake photograph is an insult to women’s dignity and urged the MCMC to investigate.

Shuhaimi said PKR always defended victims of slander because the party's leaders have been subject of slander since 1998.

He said PKR had also made police reports last week on slanderous content found in flyers and comics depicting the party's de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

"We hope those involved would stop such immoral activities," he said.
