So Pakatan is also at fault for concert deaths
YOURSAY ‘Please don't stoop so low as to blame Pakatan for everything.’
Chew blames Pakatan for music fest disaster
Ali BaBa & 40 Umknown Thieves: Chew Mei Fun, you should direct it to the police why are they not conducting regular raids to control the illegal entertainment outlets.
Is there a monkey behind the curtain? You are in MCA and you have a direct line to any of the government ministry. Pakatan is just doing fine. It is Umno and federal government that are sabotaging the Selangor state administration.
Amoker: Like how they handle MH370, it’s Pakatan Rakyat's fault. First, the concert was sponsored by Khairy Jamaluddin's Ministry of Sports and Youth and supported by Tourism Ministry in which MCA's cronies had a lot of business contracts.
Secondly, the organiser got the help from PDRM (100 police officers) who tried to weed out the drugs. The organiser is the son of Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia, which is apparently close to BN.
Third, Bukit Jalil is in Kuala Lumpur, an area where the minister in charge is from BN too.
CiViC: Chew, you are not only barking up the wrong tree but also stupid enough to have mistaken a wall for a tree.
If you have complaints about social problems, please look at the police first.
Try your best to make a police report against a massage parlour for say, theft or suspected drug abuse, I bet you that they "will" look into it once they are done with all the police reports on the opposition.
Behsaikong: This is devoid of logic altogether. Who gave the permit to hold this music festival programme? It is in KL, so how in the world can blame be put on Selangor?
I expected much more from Chew. But if this is all that she can come up with in her criticism of her opponents, then she should be soundly defeated in the Kajang by-election.
It only shows how morally bankrupt BN is. There are very serious issues facing the country and despite the donkey years BN has ruled the country, if they can't find a better reason why they should be given another chance, I can only say, ‘shame’ to those who are still considering BN in any poll.
Aoshi: Pakatan has become the convenient scapegoat. This is a very low-down, cheap shot at the state government.
I am normally content to just read the articles and comments, but this rankled me to the point I'm actually writing a comment in Malaysiakini .
Disgusted: See how Chew has twisted a BN problem and put the blame on Pakatan for the fiasco.
The event was held in KL and KL is under federal government, and Bandaraya (Kuala Lumpur City Hall) is responsible for giving the permits and governing the conduct of the event participants.
It is clear cut that the music festival got the backing from Mohamad Nazri Abdul Aziz, the culture and tourism minister and Khairy, the youth and sports minister.
The organiser of the event, Iqbal Ameer, must be an Umno crony to get the permit and all other approvals.
As for Chew’s statement of illegal massage parlours, cybercafes and entertainment centres having increased under Pakatan, the Selangor government has been helpless and unable to control the mushrooming of these centres as they can only fine them or shut them down only to find them opening in another place with perhaps ‘protection’ from BN and police.
Banzai: Chew Mei Fun, please don't stoop so low as to blame Pakatan for everything. The next thing you idiots will say is that Anwar is to be blame. Have you got any other better points that can make me give you my vote.
James1067: Vice and drugs come under the jurisdiction of the law enforcers, the police department.
By the way, when the drug is so easily available, it shows the lack and inefficiency of the departments that are responsible to eradicate this menace.
Stop pointing the fingers at the wrong people. The public know that these are billion ringgit enterprises and it is more profitable to protect them than the victims of drug users.
Onyourtoes: Chew, please answer the following questions: Is Selangor government responsible for illegal toxic drug importation, manufacturing and distribution?
Is the Selangor government responsible for all the GROs (guest relation officers) and sex workers coming into Selangor to enable massage parlours to flourish?
Is Selangor government responsible for poor education and breakdown of societal values?
Questions must also ask why toxic drugs are now so readily available. Are our narcotic agencies really effective?
What about our borders? Where did all these toxic drugs come from - domestically manufactured or imported from elsewhere?
If toxic drugs are easily available, then it does not matter we have mega concert or otherwise. People can die while attending concert, at home, in the club, or at house party.
Sleepy: Chew knows the by-election is a lost cause. The stupid statement is made primarily to please her masters for 'rewards' like a senatorship.
UMYES: Why did I choose to read this bit of news first? I love to see (read) how she's been chewed.
