PARLIAMENT Shah Alam Hospital (HSA), Selangor is expected to be fully completed on Sept 24, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.
Deputy Works Minister Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said the building had already been completed.
“The developer is focusing on the purchase, installation and testing of medical equipment.
“The readiness of equipment and components of the hospital costing RM550.8 million has reached 86 percent,” she said in replying to a question from Khalid Abdul Samad (PAS-Shah Alam) who asked about the status of construction and the overall cost implementation of the project.
Of the total cost amounting to RM550.8 million, RM410.8 million was the contract cost while RM140 million was paid to the previous developer whose contract was terminated in September 2010.
Rosnah said the payment made to the first developer of the project was based on the 27 percent of work done.
The construction of HSA project costing RM482.6 million began on Nov 15, 2007 and should have been completed by June 25, 2011.
The project was however delayed after the contractor involved failed to complete it.
