Actress Hanez Suraya Abdul Aziz, of the drama ‘Love You Mr Arrogant’, and her former personal assistant are still in the process of settling the defamation suit filed by the latter over statements about her on the social media.

Hanez Suraya’s lawyer, Harjit Singh, when met by reporters outside the Mediation Centre, said judge Zainal L Saleh had set April 8 for both parties to discuss the terms of settlement.

The actress, who was present, said today was the first time that she and her former personal assistant, Mohd Fairus Mohd Lazim, had met to discuss the settlement.

In the suit filed in November last year, Hanez Suraya, 28, claimed that Mohd Fairus had defamed and humiliated her via an Instagram account ‘DashaSultan’ and Twitter, at handle@Dasha_Sultan, between Sept 30 and Oct 15 last year.

She claimed that the words used in the statements implied that she was a snob, stingy, disrespectful, materialistic, hypocrite and an immature actress.

She is seeking special, general, aggravated and exemplary damages, costs, interest and other relief deemed fit by the court and an injunction to prevent the defendant from further making defamatory comments against her.
