Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir's decision to rebut claims that BN is linked to Perakian self-styled Raja Bomoh (shaman king) Ibrahim Mat Zain yesterday has raised eyebrows.

In a statement today, Perak PAS Youth chief Raja Ahmad Iskandar Yaacob said Zambry's decision to rebut the claims himself during legislative assembly debates shows he is "touchy" about it.

He said that as MB, Zambry has a chance to wind up the debates before sitting ends tomorrow, but instead, chose to seek to interject while Abu Bakar Hussien (PAS-Titi Serong) was debating.

"Many find this odd, be it those in the House and those following the debates through internet streaming," he said in a statement.

Raja Iskandar also urged Zambry ( right ) to clearly state Perak's stand on the matter, in light of Perak mufti Harussani Zakaria's condemnation of the shaman, who performed rituals to find MH370.

He said that if the MB disagrees with it, then action should be taken on the shaman for performing yet another ritual "to raise the bodies" of those on board the missing jet at Pulau Sembilan, Perak last week.

According to news portal Agenda Daily, Zambry had interjected and rebutted both Abu Bakar and Nizar Jamaluddin (PAS-Changkat Jering) who linked the shaman to BN.

Zambry, who is also Pangkor assemblyperson, also reportedly said that Nizar as state opposition leader was acting childishly in raising the issue.

Shaman's sash for Zambry

Nizar while debating the royal address on April 1 raised the issue of a picture showing the shaman putting on a sash on Zambry. The picture was published in Utusan Malaysia on April 8.

Agenda Daily reported that sashes were given to Zambry and Umno Perak leader Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin by the Pertubuhan Silat Gaying Ghaib Malaysia.

"It has nothing to do with the shaman, although it was put on me by Ibrahim. It was an honour by the silat community, nothing to do with shamanism," Zainol Fadzi told the portal later.

"It is wrong for Nizar to link me or the MB, as if we were students of Ibrahim. This is childish politics," he said.

Raja Bomoh was also a hot topic in the debates yesterday with Ngeh Koo Ham (DAP-Sitiawan) alleging that the shaman has a big house and that Umno members had used the shaman's services.

To this, Abdullah Fauzi Ahmad Razali (BN-Kampung Gajah) said: "Anyone can use shamans, but we in Umno don't. We belive in Allah SWT."

Abdullah was also asked by BN colleague Saraani Mohamad (BN-Kota Tampan) if PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim is the shaman's student.

Abdullah also said that shamans are actually businessmen who "collude with the devil".
