Najib thanks Australia, evades media radar

Jaycee: Why does Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak even bother to have a press conference when he is not prepared to answer questions?

 

After all, the PM had already thanked Australia for their help. He might as well just photocopy the statement and send it to the press. I am sure they can read as well as the PM.

                                   

Louis: Najib, if you only wanted to give such a statement, you need not fly thousands of kilometres to Perth just to do that. It costs us lots of money, which could be channelled to better uses for the people.

 

And not only was so much money wasted, you have again shown your incompetence by not staying back to answer questions. It has become your bad habit of running away from journalists after a press conference.

 

Answering journalists is part and parcel of a leader's job. In fact many world class leaders clamour to do so, especially if telecast live by such renowned TV networks like CNN and ABC. It is a chance to advertise our country to the whole world, which otherwise would cost us a fortune to do.

 

And in future, if you need to only give a short message to thank any country, just ask our ambassadors in that country to do so.

 

Abasir: Najib could have gone on Skype to thank the Australians and perhaps even done a recorded interview with ABC. But no, he had to squander our depleting funds on this self-serving trip to, perhaps ease that persistent travel itch he suffers from.

 

This 'no questions' nonsense must have been agreed to by Toned Abs (as Australian PM Tony Abbott is popularly known here in Canberra) and that, too, for a 'you help me, I help you' deal... which we shall soon discover.

 

Whatever the case, Najib has merely reconfirmed his cowardice, his total lack of leadership and his tendency to capitalise on anything, no matter how tragic.

 

Malaysians can hang their heads in shame for having a wastrel such as he for our prime minister. But I understand that shame, too, is a rare commodity in Malaysia.

 

Supercession: Najib, are you really that incapable of making media statements without reading off something already prepared?

Why are you such a loser that you cannot answer questions from the press? Were you not trained to be authoritative, or at least to sound and appear intelligent, even if you aren't?

 

Do you realise that your actions humiliate Malaysia as a whole? I mean, come on, are you going to justify your lily-liveredness by saying that "speaking off the cuff and defending what I say is not our culture"?

 

We know your brain is insufficiently active to engage anyone in any debate. But really, don't you think you're just not suited to be a PM?

 

Why don't you spare Malaysia the humiliation you're causing us all by simply resigning and living off your ill-gotten wealth? Won't that make you sufficiently happy? What more do you want?

 

Not Smart: If not for Najib, who else in his current line-up can go out to the international arena and speak?

 

It looks like there is no one capable enough to do so. Most of them either don't have reasonably good English, guts, brains with vast knowledge, wit, spontaneity and intelligent responses to questions.

 

Even in our country, the urban folk will rate them low from their performance seen on TV programmes and some public functions. Though we may not be proud of his performance, what choice have we got?

 

Argonist: Of course, Najib only gives his comments to Bernama , which has been the mouthpiece of the government all along.

 

Another incident of kidnapping in Sabah will promote 'Visit Malaysia Year 2014 ' as the last place on Earth to visit.

 

TTT: This is kind of consistent with the past, where Najib will only attend forums and go on stage to give a monologue, proclaiming Malaysia is the best, with no chance of anyone actually challenging his statements.

 

SpongeBob: Every day we see more evidence of the fact that the rakyat consider BN politicians to be just a group of morons who really do not know what they are doing.

 

We have an aimless captain in Australia right now, it’s just a waste of taxpayers' money.

 

Senior Citizen: Najib, if you are scared of facing the international press then avoid going to international meetings.

 

Are you scared that something will be exposed? That's why leaders should have an impeccable record.

For you to avoid press conferences is bad. It only exposes you and  the country to negativity.

If you feel you are not good enough for the world press, then I suggest you try and request the opposition leader to act on your behalf.

 

Idon'tlikekangkung: My advice to the PM is to be like Popeye, except that in your case you should swallow a lot of kangkung. Perhaps then you will have enough courage to answer some questions.

 

The real test of a leader is not in times of peace and tranquility but in times of adversity. And you, Mr PM, have been found wanting in this area.

 

Any wonder why your underlings are the same? When the top man cannot take the heat, then don’t expect the minions to be able to withstand the blaze of adversity either.

 

And the trouble with this PM is that when the word was all abuzz with the misadventures of MH370m, this man walked about carrying a dead RM1 chicken.

 

Well Thats Fantastic: It makes everyone proud to be Malaysian that our PM runs off without answering the media. After all, he doesn't answer to his people, why would he answer to the foreign media?
