Four more areas have registered moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) as of 5pm.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE) portal, the four areas that registered moderate readings were Bakar Arang, Sungai Petani (51), Malacca City (66), Bukit Rambai (58) and Port Dickson (53).

As of 12 noon, eight places, namely Banting (53), Putrajaya (51), Labuan (54), Paka (64), Nilai (54), Kemaman (55), Tanah Merah (57) and Balok Baru, Kuantan (75) had recorded moderate API readings.

An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates good air quality, moderate (between 51 and 100), unhealthy (between 101 and 200), very unhealthy (between 201 and 300), and hazardous (over 301).

The public can check the API readings for their areas at the DOE portal, http://apims.doe.gov.my .
