MPs question DPM's costly five-day Dubai trip

Anonymous #05023297: Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin is selling Malaysia Inc at the golf course. Isn't that how business is done? We can’t have him riding a camel in the desert, can we?

Abasir: Now I'm just waiting for some morons to say that questioning Muhyiddin is the same as questioning Islam.

Anyway what Muhyiddin is doing is no different from what every Umno parasite does when on an all-taxpayer-funded trip to foreign lands.

The private engagements, informal dinners and special visits usually fill up the itinerary first and when there is some spare time in between, a couple of official courtesy calls and/or meetings are scheduled.

The Umno-domiciled local press are then directed to highlight these with pre-scripted releases from Bernama . This has long been the practice or as they would put it, the standard operating procedure (SOP).

SpongeBob: The moral test for any politician is how well and efficiently he or she uses and manages the public fund. But, lately the shocking accounts of politicians abusing public fund is increasingly hitting the headlines.

This indicates the politicians is not keeping up to the required moral standard. They assume that the public will not know about it in this Internet era.

But they are dead wrong, the Internet has become a weapon to check and balance on these politicians the moment a wrong is done.

Appum: He and his kind certainly know what is ‘to make hay while the sun shines’, if they know nothing else. Also know how to follow the leader or the leader's wife. In that department, all Umnoputras certainly excel.

Fateh: It is their privilege to use taxpayers’ money to tour the world. They "slogged" so hard to climb to that position, so they must make full use of it before being kicked out.

Negarawan: While the average Malaysian is struggling on a daily basis to make ends meet, Muhyiddin is living an extravagant lifestyle using our hard-earned taxpayers' money. This is totally unacceptable and clearly shows the low integrity of Muhyiddin.

Kawak: If the information is correct, then taxpayers have to food the bill for the DPM's personal leisure and enjoyment. That said, why Pakatan Rakyat is so against the Goods and Services Tax (GST)?

After all, more Malaysians, particularly those Umno-BN supporters and voters, have to pay for political leaders’ spending from the GST collected from them. At present, some do not pay any tax at all.

Kingfisher: Irresponsibility and lack of regard for accountability is not a surprising conduct coming from senior ministers like Yang Amat Berhormat DPM Muhyiddin. Nothing new here.

Just refer to the numerous reports of the auditor-general over the last few years and one gets a strong suspicion that there is scant regard at the top for engaging ethical conduct for national interests.

It’s often, if not always, party, communal and personal interests that are made to prevail.

Jaycee: What is the point of questioning? These people in the minority government do not care. They have done it for over 50 years and they are not accountable to anyone.

If they want to dip their hands in the candy jar; it is their prerogative. If the PM and his wife can jetset round the world, so too the DPM. He might as well do it while there is still money left in the jar.

SpongeBob: Leadership by example. Good example for our students to emulate from our education minister. Put this as number one value in moral studies and Islamic studies.

1Mockery: And that's why when we eat in Petaling Jaya, the restaurant charged us 6 percent GST today.

According to them, they have already received a circular to start charging GST to foot the bill for Najib Abdul Razak and Rosmah Mansor’s trip to Perth and Vietnam, Hishammuddin Hussein to Hawaii, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to Dhaka and Nepal, Muhyiddin to Dubai... and all within about one week.

2 Tim 1:7: Until we right-thinking Malaysians unite and stage regular nationwide hartal (strike), the Umno kleptocrats will continue to amass wealth at our expense, and as a result we will have to put up with abnormal increases in taxes/cost of living.

We have seen how egregiously inept the 47 percent regime has been in managing the MH370 crisis.

Now is the time to begin the hartal and to bring the bumiputera/non-bumiputera question to the International Court of Justice for adjudication.

Drngsc: The man is so rich and yet has to scrounge on the rakyat for golf in Dubai. But then that is their culture. Taking the rakyat for a ride, while we try and make ends meet. It’s time to get rid of these Umno cheapskates.

Idiot: If the alleged First Lady of Malaysia (FLOM) can do it, why not the DPM?
