DAP is offering a free “kindergarten course” to MCA leaders who keep asking the party to express its stand on the implementation of hudud.

DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang said the Chinese-based party’s top leaders, including its president Liow Tiong Lai and his deputy Wee Ka Siong, have been very outspoken lately by pushing DAP to take a stand on hudud.

“Since they (Liow and Wee) keep asking, we want to give them a kindergarten course in politics as well,” Lim said.

He reiterated that hudud had never been part of Pakatan Rakyat policies.

“I’ve stated this for many times... that hudud is not suitable for multiracial Malaysia, and this is against our secular constitution. There is no change in DAP’s position (on this),” Lim told a press conference at the party headquarters today.

“If MCA leaders (have just) suddenly found that (out), they need to go to kindergarten to learn our position. And, please read up our statements in the archives,” said the Gelang Patah MP.

Lim said although the implementation of hudud is not part of Pakatan Rakyat’s common policy platform, the three component parties are allowed to uphold their own positions on other issues.

“This is simple and straightforward, but somehow people don’t understand that,” he said.
