Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak will soon replace the menteri besar of two states in the peninsula, Umno-owned Utusan Malaysi a reported today.
Awang Selamat, a pseudonym used by the newspaper to express its editorial stance, states that a few potential candidates have been identified to replace the menteri besar of the two states the newspaper did not name.
"Awang is of the opinion there indeed needs to be a transition to inject freshness in the administration of certain states.
"Change does not necessarily have to happen only after a general election or state election," the report says.
The newspaper said some people were hoping that Najib would put forward new faces to replace those holding appointed positions in Umno.
"Surely, there are leaders who can be relied upon, which Awang believes Najib has an idea of to be replacement candidates. Let's wait," the report says.
